I feel like you’re all over the map on this stuff today

Saw a good chunk of the Wisconsin/MSU tonight. Badgers won 3-1. Two very late goals to win. Miller played pretty well. Wisconsin's forward group this year is just mediocre offensively. Offensively they just seem disjointed. Especially against a team like MSU who played a great defensive game tonight. That, plus Miller seems to be playing more conservatively has resulted in far less point production this season. But it seems like Miller is playing a more sound game if that makes sense. He still flashes his offense at times. And he made some strong outlet passes, used his size pretty well. Ultimately kept it simple for the most part. Still a bit raw, but it's clear he has a pretty big impact when he's out there.

is Cole Caufield a complete player or a self serving shooting (Blank)?

Caufield and Turcotte are a bit undersized and just trying to figure out how to play at the college level. Neither are having a huge impact. They have their moments. And Wisconsin in general has trouble consistently creating offense. So, judging any of the players this year re: production or overall game is a bit challenging. I think all the players seem to be pressing at times.

Pajuniemi with 2 goals so far, 3rd period left.
He was once again really dangerous on PP where he scored both of his goals. Still, his 5on5 game has been a bit lackluster as of late. That could be mostly due to linemates. Lately, he's played with two other kids, one of which is pretty good but only 18.

Not impressed. Rangers didnt sign Virta for a reason. If this kid gets signed, I'll be surprised. If he wants to stay in Europe another wasted draft pick. Sign and draft players that want to play in the NHL and North America. Mesaken, Stromwall, Kovacs were all wasted contracts

You're mesakening one Virta for the other. Also, you're mesakening Mesaken for Meskanen.

I also laugh at him complaining about Meskanen and Stromwall after ranting about wasting draft picks, while these were UDFAs

Crystal Meth does crazy things to the brain.

But really, when I was young, they taught me that when you speak of someone the least you can do is say and/or spell their name right.

In a world where I see people talk about Stall, McDonaugh, Krieder, Vessey, Kappo, Kravstov, Skeji, Lundquist, Panerin and many, many more examples, I am not expecting anything anymore

Pajuniemi is ofc worth giving a try in at least AHL. Although I am from Turku and a TPS fan and very excited about this kid at the moment and this kind of did not come as a surprise how he is doing in Liiga as he has been really good for a few years now. Still, I would not bet my money on him making it on the NHL-level. Pros and cons:

Pros: -seems he is a quick learner when dedicated to something. That one-timer and overall better shot came out of nowhere after one summer of training.

-skating

Argh!? Mistake... I’ll continue here.

so pros:

-very good overall eyesight of the game and hockey IQ.

Cons:

-It looks like might be very dependent on himself playing good or he looses all his selfconfidense. That was what he himself said the reason why season 18-19 failed for him. Did not get a good start so it affected his whole season...
-Needs more strenght
-That shot will not take long to be played out in the NHL when the opponent teams become aware of it.
-Needs top9 (probably even top 6) minutes + PP time to be an offensive threat. So AHL is where he probably will go next season and I predict him loosing there his confidense.
-Altough he has improved a lot on defence. It is not even near of what it needs to be in the NHL and smaller rink.

There are many other pros and cons, but sadly mostly cons.

I predict that the Rangers will sign him for the next season. He will either play in the AHL or in TPS the first season. Then 21-22 season AHL. 22-23 a couple of games up and 10-20 in the AHL before coming back to Europe.

I do hope I am very much wrong. Maybe he will make it.

Either way it is certain that the Rangers will sign him soon. It would be stupid not to give it a try. Won’t cost much.

The team has virtually no NHL upside forward prospects outside of Kravstov and Barron, why would they not offer Pajuniemi a contract?

If he flames out, just don't offer him another contract, it's not a big deal
Right, most likely better shot than Kovacs, Stromwall, Leedahl, St Croix,

I believe this his D+2 season. NYR have his rights until D+4. I think they should take advantage of that and let Lauri develop another year at TPS. We see those great numbers and the urge is to bring these kids over ASAP. But Lauri and NYR should really consider whats best for him.

The European game just seems less physical and a bit slower. As a result, the European players are really better coming over when they're a bit more grown into their frames.

The real issue seems to be that even when they do come over, quite a few of the Euro kids aren't ready for the physicality and speed of the NA game. Commonly, folks bring up the need for better off-season training. But really, preparing for the NA game requires being physically tested in NHL/AHL games and then training the weaker parts of your body to withstand the rigor.

It's sort of shocking to me that there aren't more advances being made to prepare European Kids for the NHL game. What I'd like to see is one of these two advances:

1 - Similar to the USNTDP -- I'd like european national programs to go on tours of playing US/CA colleges. US/CA College teams play a style that is closest to the AHL and generally on smaller rinks. This would be a good test for Euro kids.

2 - I'd like to see the NHL develop a European program for preparing Euro prospects physically. Not a team, but moreso facilities where the kids can get physical testing and PT analysis to learn what aspects of their strength and skating need to be improved in order to translate their game to NA. This is a bit tricky, but has their ever been a deep dive analysis of NHL hockey player's musculiture vs when they're drafted vs when they're 25 and in the NHL? Like, can experts see which groups of muscles need the most development and how to best develop those muscle groups? I'm only mentioning cause you look at kids like Kravtsov and Buch and they come over and they're clearly under-strengthed moreso than their NA prospect counterparts. And Lias and Kakko come over and it's skating and stamina, etc. It feels like not enough is being done by the NHL to have these kids more physically prepared and knowing what they need to work on before they're like D+2 years.

Is Vienna a good location for that? Centrally located ;)
