I went with Miller but it was a very difficult decision between him and fox. But fox will be next followed by lundkvist

We're much higher on Miller than the public. Public would probably rank Fox above Miller.

I ranked Fox above Miller, but only because Fox is basically on the cusp of being an NHL player, whereas Miller is not. I think Miller has the higher potential and ceiling. But I prioritize likelihood of making an impact over ceiling.

In summation, Fox is more of a 'sure thing' in my eyes, whereas Miller is not. But Miller's tools are far more exciting to me as a fan than Fox.

Still, I think they're both great prospects and really difficult to separate at this point in time as to who should be ranked higher. It really depends on personal preferences.

Miller, add Rykov.

BTW when time comes I will be voting Rykov over Lundkvist and Hajek.

Really? I haven't paid too much attention to Lundkvist but I do know about the monster season Miller had. What was it about Lundkvist and his play last year that makes you take him, even by the tiniest of margins?

His performance in the SHL is something you rarely see. In the last 15-20 years, you had Hedman, Dahlin, Karlsson, Brännström and that's about it. Playing on a top team, in an increasing role, all situations, as an 18 year old defenseman... That's rare. Now that Sellgren is gone, Lundkvist is moved up to the top pairing which just shows you how good he is. Coaches trusted him so much, they had him out there defending the lead in the play offs.

Wow. Okay. Being mentioned in the same sentence as two HOF'ers and a former 1st overall... Now I see why.

I am not saying he's definitely going to be as good as those, but his season was really impressive and I feel it's undervalued due to him not playing against college kids.

He's top 15 all time in games played and points by an u19 D-man in the SHL. I don't have the advanced stats with me at the moment, but he was very good when it comes to defense (GA/60, CA/60 etc)

No, I know what you're saying. Still, that is great company. Btw the video from you and @Inferno was great. Seemed like you guys had an outstanding time.

Oh man. It was truly awesome. Meeting Rangers management, all those prospects. He had a jersey with him and had all the prospects and management sign the jersey. He brings it home, and his 2-year old daughter says "Daddy, my jersey is dirty"

Pointswise, in the last 15 years I also see Adam Larsson, Jacob Larsson, and Tim Erixon ahead of Lundkvist with David Rundblad and Tim Heed tied with him among U19 defensemen - (Elite Prospects - SHL Stats All-time season). Dahlin and Hedman also produced roughly 2x as much in their pre-draft seasons as Lundkvist did in his post-draft season, so I'm not sure those two are really a fair comparison.

I really like Lundkvist, but it seems to me like Adam Larsson, Jacob Larsson, Erixon, Brannstrom, Rundblad, Heed, and Karlsson is probably a better group to compare him to in terms of historical production (and those guys on average put up 30% more points than Lundkvist did). That's still a really good group. 3 or 4 of those 7 guys are probably top 4 defensemen in the NHL.

Personally, I don't think Lundkvist's skating or upside is on the same level Brannstrom's and Karlsson's but I think he's better defensively than the guys like Erixon and Rundblad who couldn't stick in the NHL, which says to me that he probably projects as #2 to #4 defenseman. I also think it's interesting to compare Lundkvist to Soderstrom, who had put up worse production at an older age at every level than Lundkvist before going 11th overall this last weekend.

It's more than just points. I'll leave it at that. Not in the mood to get sucked into this again

I'm not trying to suck you into anything. I really enjoy your posts and I think debating prospects is kind of the point of this and what's fun about it. I just don't think Hedman, Dahlin, Karlsson, and Brannstrom are the right guys to compare Lundkvist to and was using historical production as one way to make my point.

In Andersson's case... to me, it doesn't seem he should be in consideration. I know he's young and stats don't indicate a players growth, but in fact, he hasn't lit up the AHL in 2 years. Production does matter for NHL hopefuls at lower levels. Can't say that for his SHL career--he was younger and never a big producer, but even more to the idea we drafted a middle-six C. I think the fact that people have him #4 is because they're in denial that we probably drafted a (very good) 3C.

This is almost word-for-word my reasoning as well.

Bonus round coming up next, Chytil's crack at where you would put him had he been eligible and played 19 less games.

He won't be added to the official list.
