THN also has Miller slipping to 28th in a re-draft. That alone drops a nuke on their credibility.

Oh - completely right.

By chance I had kept last year’s draft issue, reading the old write ups on Miller, Lundkvist, Lindbom (will he even make our top 25? Insanity)

...and of course K’Andre comp is Seth Jones.

They lost me at Dobson.

And Joe Veleno? The kid who looks like a support player when playing in tournaments or against the better teams in the Q playoffs?

G'night everybody. Tip your waiters.

I would still take Dobson over Bouchard, but seeing him at 10 was my first real objection on the list as well. I considered him at 9th or thereabouts at the time of the draft, but all he did was tread water for me this year.

Dobson reaffirmed my doubts last year about him being a number one, or even a first pair defenseman. He does good when he's one of the guys, not quite as good when he's asked to be "the guy" on a team.

My face when looking at that trash

He definitely doesn't look to be that guy, or even to have the drive to be that guy; based on some of his reactions that I seen to the Titan getting stomped.

FWIW, the gap between him and Bouchard has narrowed for me, but they both kind of stagnated a bit.

If at the time of the draft I had Dobson as being 20% better than consensus and Bouchard as being 20% worse, then now I would probably have Dobson at 0-10% better and Bouchard at 5-15% worse. If that attempt at quantifying makes any sense.

Personally, I still like Bouchard better. I think he did about all you can ask for this season, considering his numbers were already high for a defenseman, and he was on a man on fire in the playoffs --- both in the OHL and AHL.

IMO he was the prime example of a guy caught between the NHL and the CHL, who really would've been best served in the AHL for the whole year if it was allowed.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about his AHL time. That is certainly enough to balance the scales for me.

I did find myself to be underwhelmed by his CHL season though. I don't know how his ice time was affected by Boqvist, but I was expecting even more gaudy numbers than his draft year.

It would be interesting to see how switching him and Dobson around at the start of the season would of affected their's and their team's play.
