Yep. If we can get rid of him before the buyout date, I'd keep Richards. Dead serious.

I was just discussing this with friends. I love to jump on the Richards hate train but he sure has been clutch for us when we needed it in the playoffs.

Ya his contract sucks but moving or getting rid of Nash should be our main concern.

Malkins played almost 15 minutes.

Rangers have done well balancing 4 lines.

Pens got caught up ice a lot that period. The 3rd period should yield odd man rushes.

Lundqvist has been outstanding. Fleury has been saved by two crossbars.

20 minutes to the CF. Tampa fans crossing their fingers too.

Meh. It's worth it. Maybe not on deadline day but screw the pick. I want more hockey.
It would have been a high first round pick anyway. I value draft picks but the rangers have been a different team the past few games.

Pittsburgh is outplaying the Rangers tonight, yes, but I don't think they're necessarily better. IMO, had Games 3 and 4 been spaced out like they should have been, the Rangers win this in 6.

Now we have 20 minutes to see if Lundqvist can continue this amazing stretch!

People always sell the Penguins short because of their frustrations shown by their captain in the post season.

They finished with 107 points, second in the conference, after missing more man games than anyone in the conference. If that's not a superior team, I don't know what is.

If we win this, it will be an upset, especially considering we are down 3-1.

It's okay to believe that we can actually upset a team

It's one of the weakest drafts in years, it would be like losing a mid 2nd rounder in a normal draft anyway

In regards to Nash, I think it's something kind of similar to the MSL slump - not the adjusting part, but the fact that one goal to change everything for him

Why can't they both be doing well at the same time

I really wish we didnt have to bash Nash i honestly do. the guy has the ability to be a force every shift but he lacks the intensity especially in the playoffs. I understand he cant score every game and nobody is asking him to BUT 1 goal in 26 playoff games for a guy making 7.8 million is unacceptable

Nash hasn't been scoring and that sucks obviously, but he's been great with everything else. Hitting, getting the puck out of the zone, powering his way to dump the puck. Underwhelming for a $7.8M player? You bet. But in a game 7 I'll take all those little things happily over liability on the ice like a cold Ovie would be, who gets paid a lot more. If we get through this game alive he can still redeem himself offensively. There's a lot more playoff hockey to be played if the Rangers plan on going deep.

He isn't a liability, I give you that, but great? Even if we completely ignore his paycheck and the expectations derived thereof, I wouldn't name him as one of the better players on this team so far today. That's not great, that's acceptable (if we treat him as an arbitrary NHL player).

For those who are too young too remember, multiply your current heart rate by 1000000000 and you might be able to match mine during Game 7 of the Devils series.

Multiply it by 10000000000000 and you're still nowhere near Game 7 vs Vancouver.

still, this is outstanding excitement, anxiety, whatever.

Just happy to be witnessing it.

What is your general critique of him?

that he gives up easy goals(not all) in the playoffs....inferior goalies play equal or better than him, sometimes knocking him out of the playoffs.....the great goalies CAN'T do that .... he has to carry the team on his back if he wants to win it all .... Like a Patrick Roy or Jonathan Quick a few years ago....

Nash needs to do something in the 3rd period. If he doesn't and we lose, the focus will be on him....as it should be. You don't pay $7.8 Million to a penalty killer.
