I would trust Bimm M. and Tony De Marinis with my life...

Exactly what im saying. Just funny I got a text from a friend who showed me a pic of "@NYR_FullTilt: According to ESPN, Alain Vigneault is on a plane to NY! Is he the new #NYR coach?" Which makes absolutely no sense.

Interest in Kings assistant coach John Stevens appears to be heating up around the league with the New York Rangers now entering the picture.

Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi said, via email Thursday night, that Stevens is expected to interview with the Rangers for their vacant head coaching position. The Rangers fired John Tortorella four days after they were eliminated in the playoffs.

Maybe Vigneault was connecting through LGA to a flight to DFW. Dallas Fort-Worth. American Airlines has a million direct flights from LGA to DFW everyday.

If Messier truly wanted to be the coach all this time he would have been coaching in the AHL or NHL already building up experience and a résumé. He just wants it because it's available. I understand he wanted to remain in the NYR organization because he loves this team and city so much, which is a great showing of dedication, but his severe lacking of behind the bench experience is a gamble not worth taking. If I were Sather I would tell Messier that no today does not mean no forever. He just needs to prove what he can do before we hire him.

Whats even more disturbing to me is that Messier feels ok about not having the experience. That I dont like. Personally i would feel weird about it, not completely qualified or prepared to take on such a challenge - especially for a team and city that I love and wouldnt want to let down.

Sometimes over-confidence is a great thing, especially as a player. But as a coach, its not as easy to get away with. Theres only so much you can control behind the bench and its a delicate process, one thats learned through experience imo.

@NYDNRangers: Mark Messier just told me he has interviewed for the Rangers' head coaching job #NYR

Found a leaked transcript of the Messier interview:

Glen Sather: Hey Mark, how are you?

Mark Messier: Good, Slats.

Glen Sather: OK, well thanks for coming in.

Mark Messsier: Nailed it!
