Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Lightning 2/2/13 "Rick Nash still hasn't scored on a shot WTF!!!"

Every PGT needs an "edition".

I'm with you on that, but I'm just saying. If someone wants to avoid knowing the outcome of the game and the title is "OMGGG YESSSS BABY STREEKJHSJH!" then haha yeah they don't know the score but they get a good idea of what the outcome was. Granted, I don't know why anyone would want to come here if they haven't seen the game yet, but to each their own.

And to think we had so much freakin' negativity in the GDT....

I was just saying to my buddy, that a big factor was the negativity going into the game. Whenever we all seem over confident we end up losing. When we're all "omg this sucks whatever, I hope they kill us quickly" we end up winning.

Actually I was confident this game, like I had some nice senses. Wasn't over zealous yet wasnt like omg gonna lose. I had a feeling that we played our brand sort of and starting to get better.

Not only that, but if I missed the game and didn't want to know the outcome, this is the last thread I would ever be in

I suppose this thread title is taking a shot at me. :sarcasm:

Whenever I make a PGT, it always mocks something said in the GDT, not to make fun of any individual, but to mock the stupid or funny things that are spewed all over the thread during the game

The thread was originally about scoring three goals, but that's too much of a spoiler according to the mods, so I had to change it.

LOL a most excellent point.

When I used to work late and tape the games, I'd drive home with my radio off, earplugs in, going; "lalalalalalaal" past my roommates and up to my room to watch the game. If my Dad called me I'd hang up on him because he would always tell me something about the damn game. Yeah, I would steer clear of this site for sure. Or the internet in general.

Right... so since I was the only person to say this, you are mocking me.

We have games of 3, 4, and 5 goals this season. My crack team of mathematicians have confirmed that due to the variable (New York Rangers), this is an anomaly.

Right... so since I was the only person to say this, you are mocking me.

Yea, but not in a bad way. I read your posts and know you weren't criticizing Nash, just making a valid point.

But after that one poster said something about how people will then complain that he hasn't scored a slap shot, etc... it became funny, at least in my mind.

So I made it the thread title.

Makes up for the Pittsburg game? :dunno:

Honestly though, we got away with one and other than that the refs were neutral and just let the boys play. imo

"just letting the boys play" is exactly why they were calling in our favor. if they called by the book it obviously would've been in tampa's favor w/ their pp and our pp.

So based on recent posts, it was our 3 worst players who scored?

Yeah, according to everyone here we had to spread out the talent we have on our 1st line because our 2nd line cannot score without one of the big 3. That was at the end of the 1st period haha

Yeah but they let a few slip on their end as well. I see your point, but really we only got away with the one. And every game has a "no call" here and there. I don't think it was a factor at all if you ask me.

Billy Jaffe just said that Boston drafted Dougie Hamilton first overall last year.

No they didn't. And no they didn't.

Bickel, Gilroy, and Rupp scored?

hahaha But no, no you are correct. Was good to see honestly. I for one was on the "Step hate" bandwagon. He was playing like garbage and it was good to see him as well as Hags and Nash have a good game and suck out some of the poison from their snake bites.

I don't come in this thread...but I often watch the game on delay and come to the forum for various reasons. I do follow the GDT as I progress to see what people are saying about the game as it is unfolding for me. So yeah, I don't want to see the score or honestly even a title in the Post Game thread that might have a spoiler in it.

At the game... We looked like a "team" for most of the night. I think Biron's glove is amazing!!! And finally Nash is a beast! And not just for the goal... The passes as well. Love him.

Gabby has stepped up his D significantly.

Just got back from the game...

The Rangers played Rangers hockey. Period. I don't want to hear the "well, the Lightning played last night." The Rangers have been through a nasty schedule and have been worn out. The Rangers played solid defense. They got in the lanes of passes and they had awesome recovery. Biron came up big time. They controlled the play along the boards and forechecked like the Rangers. It was refreshing to see them back.

Holy smokes was there a lot of Rangers fans there. There were times where there was a Let's go Rangers chant through the arena.

Yeah, probably the best 60 minute effort this season.

And after the Nash goal it seemed as if half the fans got up to cheer. lol

I only saw the second half, but I came away mighty impressed.

The best part was the Rangers did their homework for this one. Forwards were extremely active in the defensive zone. Positionally, yes, but they were extremely aggressive and intercepted or blocked a ton of passes.

Top 6 was pretty dynamite in the second half, and Marty played very well.

And Stamkos got me 2 fantasy goals. :handclap:

Just got back from the game also. Awesome game, finally Rangers hockey. And yeah, my section had quite a few Rangers fans. I noticed an entire section cheering and saw they were kicking a Ranger fan out, not sure what that was about lol.

Biron was great, he should have been one of the stars.

Oh, and that giant scoreboard is awesome. Tampa has a really nice arena.

I dont disagree with you. It was probably our best game outside of the toronto game. However we need to see this from here on out.

Fans when bonkers after that goal. Absolute beauty. Such a pure poward foward. He bring a big dynamic to the team. He does everything. I was a little pissed off at his lack of awareness on the PK when he turned it over which led to a goal. Nash made up for it.

What section were you in??? I saw the guy getting tossed because the sections around him were cheering. I was in 124 - the opposite side. I was in a row of Rangers fans. My buddy was the only one not cheering for them. I loved it.

The Forum didn't even need a renovation. The place looked great before it. Those lightning shows are incredible.

I honestly think this is going to be how it is from here on out. What a win, especially with a backup goalie playing against a team averaging 5+ goals a game. This has got to spark em. They were so well disciplined. They knew if they took a couple penalties, the game's over. They did their thing.
