All good points about Nash, but part of the problem is also that he and Stepan are just not a good match. Watch the HNIC feed, they were very fair to the Rangers (and BTW, they don't think Nash will be on Team Canada - can't see how he will be, they have a ton of talented players who will be left off Team Canada, and they need faster players for the big ice). They also made the point I made a few days ago, that, apart from the defensive problems and Lundqvist having a miserable season, this is not an untalented team if they could ever get a top line going.

I hate to break up good lines, but I wonder how Nash would do if he was being set up by Brassard or Zucc.

They also showed a photo of Kreider in a swimming pool - he's a very big boy. Don't want to see him hurt in a fight, though, he's a future All-Star.

Well Kreider earned a little respect from me there, because it was his very first fight, NHL + A combined. And he picked a player well known for his physical game.

I think Kreider will show more and more grit, and we need that kind of play.

Kreider was timed at over 34 kilometers per hour on his goal as a max speed. For all the people who want Tortarella back as coach, I think he'd still be in Hartford or playing with Brian Boyle if he was still coach.

For all AV's faults, he's giving the kid a chance to really grow. I don't like him on a line with Nash at this time, though.

Kreider's a big boy. Brick **** house, if you will. Was attending the Sabres game but caught the highlights now at home. Good stuff... This team needs more mental toughness and resiliency, like tonight. They came back and throttled their opponent. Take it and carry it along. It's time for this team to start doing something that gets them out of the box.

I've been waiting for Kreider to drop the gloves since the Caps game, when he and Laich got into it a bit. After they looked like they were going to go--Kreider got benched or was "injured" and didn't see the ice again in the third period. With all the talent that he has--especially his speed and hands that he showed on his goal tonight; he also likes to play physical. I think it was definitely time for him to get his first fight under his belt, that way it sends a message to the rest of the league that he can handle himself, when push comes to shove. He's not afraid to handle his business. I don't want this to become a new facet to his game, on a regular basis. But once in a while, it's good to see someone other than Dorsett, Cally, or even Boyle "try" to take care of business.

Technically he didn't "pick" Dandy Dion, he played physical against him and got under his skin to the point Dion had enough and tried to engage... And****GAAASSPP******
Sur Prize!!1!1!
He wasn't decapitated and his cranium thrown into the abyss as his opponent/destroyer flexed and cackled as the crowd erupted into a chaotic bloodlust...
I'm sure that it shocked you to see him still breathing after that inevitable vicious beat down you prognosticated so vehemently in previous posts?

If JT Miller could remove the pointless one-v-one crap he is always trying from his game, I'd be very fond of him as a player. I think he's taken measured steps forward in his game that move him closer to regular bottom 6 NHL time.

What stood out today was in an offensive assault the guys that did nothing... Callahan, Nash, Stepan.

I agree about Miller. Miller has shown some good flashes but sometimes he tries to beat guys one on one too much. His passing is pretty good. I dont think he will ever be a big scorer but i think he can pick up a good amount of assists because he makes some crisp passes

8 goals and not one by Nash. Very troubling. This guy is invisible out there.

Rangers played well and laid it on them but I hate to be negative... Tortonto was absolutely brutal, I mean like non-existent out there. Take the two points, but I think any team could have gotten a bunch against the way that team played tonight.

I thought Nash looked pretty good in the first period but he disappeared after that.

This guy's game frustrates me to no end this year. I try and have patience and not blame him for not contributing, but I still can't decide if he's dead weight who's just been overrated and always given extra room to make the occassionally dandy move on a team that no one took seriously. Or if he can make an impact and score a goal in a meaningful situation on a team struggling to make the playoffs.

The only thing that keeps me from saying dump this guy--is that playing after a concussion is nasty. Even a little hit to the head can cause headaches and nausea for weeks afterward. It's the toughest injury to deal with. It's the only reason I'm willing to give him an inch of slack, even though he should've been on the score sheet tonight.

After the 3rd or 4th goal they flat out quit. It got even worse in the 3rd when they stopped skating altogether. The Rangers could have easily hit 10 if they didn't let up at the end. Hell they were still scoring when they did let up. I'd be pissed if I was a Leafs fan because they mailed it in from the 2nd period on.

Dont read them. Its my opinion. I dont think Kreider is a fighter and Phaneuf is tough, i dont wanna see Kreider hurt in a 7-1 game, do you? Where was this against Pittsburgh from this team? Why should Kreider fight a guy like Phaneuf who is tough?

I live in Calgary, saw lots of Phaneuf. Yes he can throw hard hits but he is a terrible fighter. There's a reason he doesn't throw down, vast majority of scrappy players will take him.

It was frustrating to watch here.

Talbot needs to start a few games here. This is coming from someone who loves Hank - but Cam has to go in for a few in a row now.

I understand but still. Kreider is too valuable to risk getting hurt in a blowout game

I'm starting to think maybe Nash came back too early from his concussion and it's still troubling him. They can stick with you forever. I had one in early July and I still get headaches from time to time, having never had headaches regularly before.

Not trying to make excuses, just entertaining the thought.

You're right, 17:10. But Zucc was invisible to me, guess it's because he didn't add any points on the seven goals.

Zucc played very well on Poos goal. The Maple leafs D only focused on Zucc and that left Poo open. Thats what happen when u circle around the net. Nash should do the same. He got a big body.

His line also had alot of offensive zone pressue and that was key in todays game. The leafs couldnt get out of their zone. We just skated better than team. Even Boyle skated well.

Both teams has a poor defense, but Our defensemen played most of the time in leafs zone. Thats why we won 7-1. If we can keep this up vs the Blackhawks then we can win.

Yeah, seriously you can feel fine off the ice, then try skating and 5 minutes in you feel dizzy and sick to your stomach. Staal was just kind of getting his game back after his concussion last year, when he got the eye injury. As much as it frustrates me to watch Nash not produce and just not seem to show up, I kind of have that suspect that he's not even close to 100% post-concussion.

Funny really, after the Pens game people here and elsewhere called the Rangers soft as silk, looking like girls, and so on. I wonder if they read these posts and it pissed them off.

Because look what happened tonight. They crushed the Leafs, looked tough, Kreider fights and Sather picks up Carcillo...nickname Carbomb

Steps makes a very nice pass play setting Kreiders break away goal.

Talk about the trade all you want, but since Sather acquired Carcillo we've averaged 7 goals a game.
