Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Jets 3/14/13 - Tort-O-Rella

Yeah dude, you're right.. Richards and Gaborik just completely lost all their talent from last season. :sarcasm:

Can you imagine the roster turnover from year to year, or even week to week if these kind of people were the GM?

JT Miller is a brutal hockey player. No idea why he's in the NHL. A disgraceful performance by him tonight with those turnovers.
Simple he is Torts favorite just like boyle and richards. I have been saying for weeks that people are overrating miller and now he is falling back to earth

Had a couple of odd man rushes and blew them . Had a breakaway shot wide . Bungled a penalty shot . End of game typical couldn't win the big face off .
Bottom line Richards and Gaborik need to be among your best players and on the score sheet and weren't . Hank was good . Defense was OK .

Gaborik doesn't "fit in" on this team, with this system, and this style of play.

Yeah, lets get rid of the 40 goal scorer, instead of the coach. brilliant

You guys need to stop making excuses about that surgery he had. It doesn't mean he can't move his feet or make a pass.

And if you thought he was effective last year in the playoffs, then that's gotta be the biggest joke I've heard all day. Stats can be deceiving, his goal against Wash in triple OT was his contribution.

Gaborik may be the best Ranger ever at stuffing the stat sheet, but in terms of his impact on the game...it's minimal. It always has been.

1 Goal in his last 12 games...there's a stat for you.

People I want gone or with the Whale:

Mike Sullivan
Marian Gaborik
Brad Richards
Stu Bickel
Brian Boyle
Michael Haley
Matt Gilroy

And honestly, I don't care what they do with Torts. He's made his fair share of head-scratching decisions this year. Same goes for Del Zotto. And what a bonehead move keeping JT Miller with the bigs. He's ready but Kreider isn't? Miller belongs with the Whale and it was a mistake keeping him up here. Now, it's too late. We burned a year so we might as well keep him up here.

THIS.....:handclap::nod:

One thing I'm glad about, the "lol it's only one game" crowd is nowhere to be found...

How sad is it that I'm clamoring for Mats Zuccarello. At least he'd score more goals and put in a better effort than most of these patsies.

That is, if Torts actually plays him

Who really wants to win the cup in a shortened season? :sarcasm:

Definitely a low point of the season, it will get better….. Some of our key players are in a slump… even an extended slump. But this is a good team…. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season….. Heads up!
:handclap:

oh god i cant stand these two.

"put gaborik with stepan and nash"
RON NO do not break up nash and hagelin. BAD BAD BAD IDEA

"wow losing prust is really hurting"
common prust is not the missing piece to this team. what a pathetic comment to make. prust may be one of the most overpayed players in the league. yea i like him and hes a good bottom 6 guy but hes making way too much. prust is not the reason montreal is doing so well and we are sucking.

I never liked Torts. His defensive first ******** wont win games. You need use have offense. I mean look at what he has done to kreider so far. A kid who has a ton of offenseive taent is forced to try and appease his coach by scarificing his offense and in return is always in his doghouse

Nice sample size. Want a stat that actually says something? 747 gp, 332g, 332a.

Now, most Gaborik apologists would agree he's sucked this year, I don't see anyone denying that. Point is he's a proven elite scorer having an off year.

1 goal in his last 12 games? WOW... I didnt know 12 games was sample enough for trading a guy who's scored over 40 goals twice with the Rangers

My problem with Gaborik lies outside the points. Sure, his goal scoring is great but he's streaky as heck, which makes him completely unreliable. He's like a home run hitter that hits 2 against the Astros in 10 run victories, but then strikes out repeatedly when you need him most. The numbers don't tell the story whatsoever.

When he's not scoring goals, he's very rarely playing well. In fact, many times he's detrimental, hence his repeated benchings. He loses puck battles, shows no burst, turns the puck over, is absolutely useless on the wall, and floats all over the place. It'd be one thing if he was simply snake bitten right now but was playing well outside of goal scoring. But he isn't. That's rarely the case. He's actually a detriment to his teammates right now, and this isn't the first time.

I understand why people don't want to move him - we need the offense. He fills that void to a degree. Same thing with Del Zotto. But both guys aren't great fits, IMO. I wish we could find a way to do better.

So many games this year that I haven't even noticed if Gaborik was playing out there.....and MDZ just ticks me off too !!
