Imagine being a poster here and still trying to defend Geo. Yikes.

hi there - that's me
i won't blame him, when from minute 5, to minute 45, the team gave him no help and no relief, played half-assed clueless hockey

they let the Jackets skate freely up ice, and take control of NYR end,
way too many soft zone-clears to no one in neutral zone, and hardly any puck control, forecheck or cycle

You know, even though Foxy had been putting up points, he hadn't really looked like himself for a couple of games. I wonder if he was playing through something, and that hit last night just bothered it enough for him to finally have to address it.

I'm not sitting here nervous that he's seriously hurt. I swear. :help:

This basically describes every Rangers game.

If anything they played better than they usually do, out shooting and out chancing the Blue Jackets by a huge margin.

The difference was our goalie stopped 14 out of 18 shots and we lost.

I don't if it's to that extent but I literally said the other day that I'd rather be .500 and do things well, particularly see our young guys do well, than have our current record solely because our goalie has a .940 save percentage.

Agreed.

The kids doing well is more important.

Because this team isn't winning the Cup no matter it's record, playing like this. What will win the Cup is the kids coming along.

I get it but every single game doesnt need to be a referendum on the importance of analytics and whether or not this team is a "true contender". The team is very young and clearly needs to make some additions, but cant we just enjoy this return to prominence for what it is? its tiresome

No. Sanity is frowned upon.

on the bright side, I think this is the first loss like this we've had all season, where we lost to a team we easily should have beaten . It happens to all the best teams, why not us.

Really can't wait for Georgiev to be gone... Any replacement isn't going to be great, but we just need to avoid the games where Georgy has where it's almost an automatic loss.

Schneider has been great. Just need to find the guy to pair with him. Hajek isn't it... WOuld rather not Nemeth either.

Honestly, I'll be unusually positive today. This is really the first loss in regulation that the Rangers have had to a bad team. It came against a team that got historically embarrassed last night and we had our awful backup in net, they had their awful backup who played out of his mind and got 4 posts in his favor. Not happy but I think I'll survive.
Are you feeling okay ? ;)

xG were in our favor so yea Georgiev f***ed it up.

Gallant mentioned "tree" guys he thought were on par tonight and the rest were below.

I'm gonna guess he means Schneider, Goodrow, Panarin were the guys he liked.

I hate that you can't hear the questions at the presser. Not sure but I believe a reporter asked him which 3 and he refused to say, But I believe the reporter suggested a player or some players and I believe one was Schneider and whoever it was Turk said he's been playing really good.

As hard or soft as the one against Georgie.

I don't think Georgi is a great goalie, but didn't four deflections go in against him?
the first one should never have made it through the crease to Nyquist's skate (which he kicked in btw). He needed to be more alert and control that rolling puck. The 4th one wasn't deflected; he just didn't cover the post. Those two are on him.

. I wouldn’t say a terrible game. He nearly had a goal but korpisalo made a great save. Columbus also made a big effort to target CK especially on the PP
He seemed unengaged. Not looking to make the tough or dangerous play, just throwing the puck around the boards and passing the buck literally.

Korpisalo stole that for them.Laf, Gauthier looked good.Hajek and Schneider looked very good together
yes, they DID. Now, Hayek has been playing much better the last 4 or 5 games, is it BECAUSE of Schneider?
Have they ever played together? Just wondering, because it seems that way. Hayek seems very comfy with Schneider. then again, if he is really this good, then he would make ANYBODY feel comfy.
btw, never seen an 8 game rookie dman, be so CONFIDENT joining the rush, nor following up a play. great stuff! gonna need him with Foxy out at least a week.

. Disagree. Obviously not the best night but that happens to every player, nothing to do with being “disengaged”. Give credit to Columbus for focusing on him

Hajek is better than Nemeth so at least there is that.

Did Georgiev speak with the press at all? I’d like to hear what he says. I just want to see something positive and constructive. Anything.
