He is...he made a really stupid play in the neutral zone that caused a turn over. He will learn.
19yo player is going to make mistakes

idk if players hear back what the coach says usually during pressers but torts could have a little more tact imo

Did I watch a completely different game than Islanders fans? All I hear after the game is how the refs screwed them.

its cause they got 3 PPs to none, meanwhile the last penalty in OT was a legit call, they are just being babies, Capuano was complaining about it

i cant even think of a play that was even a 50/50 situation where we cud have been penalized. isles postgame is about deserving a couple powerplays but which what incidents warranted a powerplay?

Capuano's accent...man the guy reminds me so much of my girlfriends Dad. I hate that ****er. **** Long Island.

Um, no, Capuano, you aren't entitled to a PP.

What a baby. Refs let a lot go and the Rangers played smart. Only penalties called were the blatant calls. There were 3 blatant penalties the Islanders committed and zero by the Rangers. In the sense that the Refs were letting things go, it was called consistently.

And Capuano sounds like an actor doing a terrible New York accent.

Some points:
- Boyle needs to see the press-box. The guy adds nothing right now. - Bickel needs to be in the AHL. He is not an NHL caliber player.
- Gaborik was awful until the very end of regulation/OT. He was barely moving his feet all game.
- Hamrlik was exactly what I expected. Put up some solid minutes.
- I thought Stralman skated well. Can't wait for Staal to be back to really shore up the D.
- Nash is a beast. Stepan is feeding off of him. Hagelin rounds out that line perfectly with his tireless work ethic.

agree with everything but the Gaborik comment.

That line Gabby-Miller-Callahan was hard on the puck all night and played well. Created chances all night. Gabby played well tonight.

Keep Miller with Callahan. Put Richards with Gaborik/Pyatt.

I like that. would give us three lines with energy and skill. Do whatever you want with 4th line at that point. I know Torts loves Boyle, but Powe-Halpern-Asham/Boyle/Haley. Please no more Bickel.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with Hamrlik's play albeit he is pretty slow.

torts on miller: "hes still a dummy at times"

pretty odd statement

I think Torts is gonna be hard on him cuz he's a rookie and he's not a big point producer. You tolerate some mistakes if a guy makes up for it offensively, but Miller isn't doing that yet

On the other hand he's still playing pretty well overall

Yeah, not sure what people are saying about Gaborik wasn't relevant until the goal, he was even forechecking well tonight.

Voted for Nash, Stepan, Lundqvist (stopped 3 breakaways).

HM: Callahan, Hagelin, Miller

The bad: The third and fourth lines absolutely reek. Boyle needs another few games watching from the press box. Gaborik looked awful and disinterested until the goal. He coughs up the puck like an old lady giving up her purse to a mugger.

Really liking JT Miller's game, and Callahan has really upped his game, as has Stepan. Nash - what can you say, entire teams are now game-planning to stop him.

Girardi and McD were especially good out there, and Hamrlick wasn't bad for what we expected, just a little slow and out of shape. I think he might be a good addition for depth.

However, we're not going to beat the top teams with only two lines with a chance of scoring and a dreadful PP. Nash, Stepan and Callahan will be dead from exhaustion in another month.

He'ss getting it up the ice and playing well, and seems to be learning

how anyone can complain about bickel tonight is foolish. The 4th line drew 2 penalites and played very well in there own zone. Bickel was just fine.

Miller made that one stupid play where he held onto the puck to long and gave it away, he reminded me oh Johnny Malkin...............overall he is looking good though and I rather have him at 3rd line C over Boyle

they really need to deal Boyle soon if he's not chipping in offensively

You mean that Callahan and Miller were forechecking well while Gabby watched?

There were a few times when Gaborik forechecked, he also did some back checking. the important thing is he's shooting the puck now and the goals will come. We pay him to put up points, thats his game. Nash/Callahan/Hagelin, etc can do all the other stuff.
