I think facing 85 shots in 1 game and the atrocious defense in front of him had a lot to do with that.

This is a BIG problem.

It's been an issue all season. We clean it up and it continuously rears it's ugly head

Our Center play has a lot to do with it. The wingers needs to start collapsing to the middle or something.... It's been rough and Pittsburgh did expose us

Luckily Carolina does not have that experience but they do thrive in skirmishes. We need to be a lot stronger in front of Shesty. I hope and pray the necessary adjustments are made

I really hope that Panarin goal gets a monkey off his back of sorts. He's obviously playing hurt but maybe that takes some of the pressure off and he gets going the same way Mika and Kreider have exploded once they got the 1.

Regardless, I think Copp needs to come off that Panarin line. 2 of those guys on the line are very clearly banged up bad with Copp being able to barely move. I'd put Motte with Strome and Panarin and hope his speed and forecheck can create space for the other 2. Copp I'd kind of shuffle around depending on situation and when faceoffs are needed (ex. Kid line taking a draw).

It might be time to swap Copp and Vatrano. Vatrano has the wheels that line needs right now. Copp can rely on the speed Mika and Kreider have and be able to help clear up the issues with the team covering down low. Motte can be used situationally as well, but it'd be good to have some options there.

Pitt was a bad matchup for us. I never wanted to play them. The way they create opportunities down low and cycle and pressure with their Dmen. We had a really tough time with that. Carolina likes to throw a lot of shots on net but the scoring chances may not be as lethal as Pitt. They also don't have a Crosby and all the pressure is on them. We are playing with house money and we have a shot but Shesty has to be Vezina Shesty.

Judging a team's performance in one series often bares no resemblance on how they'll perform in the next series. Whole new ballgame.

It might be time to swap Copp and Vatrano. Vatrano has the wheels that line needs right now. Copp can rely on the speed Mika and Kreider have and be able to help clear up the issues with the team covering down low. Motte can be used situationally as well, but it'd be good to have some options there.

I wouldn't mind this swap. You could also move up any of this kids - Kakko, Laf, or Chytil, and they'd find success in the top 6. But it also may be better not to touch that line since they've been showing up and playing well in most games.
