Confirmed with Link: Rangers hire Gallant as HC

Disagree with all of that. Omega oversells a lot of shit unnecessarily. Cornette even gets on him for it.

Are the Bucks the greatest on the mic? No, but they’re good enough.

I'm going with an out of left field prediction: Will Cullye becomes Gallant's go to guy. Maybe not this upcoming season, but he'll be the Brian Boyle of the Gallant Era.

No.

Same thing happened when Zac Jones signed. It was announced by everyone on Twitter and everywhere else days before it became official. There are probably details that need to be ironed out and a contract that needs to be formally signed before this can happen.

I feel like when NHL.com reports it, which they did, it's pretty much official.

I return to the belief that he is at a crossroads in his career. As other people have mentioned, he comes in with at least somewhat of a reputation that sees him trying to stare down Buck Showalter comparisons.

That's why I think it is a good opportunity for him. If changes some of the narrative here, he's writing his own ticket.

Sure... but AV was in a similar position when he joined the Rangers, nearly took them all the way, and now is seen as the furthest thing from Trotz.

I don't think Gallant is going to be seen the same way, and I'm very happy with this hire. But it's just hard to know what the public perception of someone is going to be a few years from now.

probably cannot afford UFAs like Hyman, Danault, less trendy guys maybe like Goodrow or Paquette
at D they could look at UFAs like Merrill or Forbert or aim higher in trade
dont want long deals for role players ...
