Feeling it
Oh and thank GOD is wasn’t Tocchet.
Just envisioning him behind the bench makes me want to puke.
Just envisioning him behind the bench makes me want to puke.
I can see a few players taking off under Gallant.
Laffy, who would’ve taken off with any coach really but Gallant will help guide him to be the leader of this team. I think they are a perfect match over the long haul.
Kakko, who I think Gallant will love in big spots as he matures.
Barron, who will be given a shot in the arm as a developing bottom line character kid with some raw skill.
Lindgren, because he’s Lindgren.
Hajek or someone else unexpected. Gallant will unlock someone’s true potential.
Cuylle when he arrives.
Trouba. He’s on the up. Gallant will get him over the top.
and Panarin. Yes, believe it or not I still think there’s another level to Bread and GG will get it out of him.
I'll venture here:
Boost
Kakko and Lafreniere will take similar steps as Barkov and Huberdeau.
Fox is gonna cement his place as one of the absolute elite at his position and will have the team success to get the votes for awards.
Struggle
Chytil - I think he's gonna frustrate Gallant and vice versa
Kreider - I think he's going to find himself in a weird spot.
So you're saying we're going to acquire Marchessault and actually give him a chance this time around?

I advocated for this in 2012!!So you're saying we're going to acquire Marchessault and actually give him a chance this time around?
I advocated for this in 2012!!
Yeah Chytil is just kinda weird regardless of who the coach is.
Like, he has obvious skill and is objectively effective if you look at the stats, but he also has really strange and really frustrating habits that don't go away.
I once described him as the worst good player I've ever seen.
"If there is one critique of Gallant, it is that he is not especially strong on X’s and O’s and may not be the most adept game coach in the league in terms of making strategic adjustments on the fly."
FFS, Uncle Larry, could you at least quote me next time?
Yeah he's like Marcel Hossa if Hossa scored and didn't suck lolMarcel Hossa
People are saying that or something like that as a formality at this point. If there's one thing you can count on, it's any long-term contract becoming horrible. It when that's for guessing... I won't I advocate either way, but he is a 1C at this point. If you want a sure bet at having a 1C in four years, you can't but a 1C now has the best chance of being one for at least next year.Guys I’m not so sure about:
Zibs, I’m just feeling weird about him going into the future even though I absolutely love him as a player.
Kreids, if Gallant can get a consistency out of him we haven’t seen, even on the lower lines it will be impressive. But I’m not sure that is possible. It will really matter in the playoffs.
Miller, not because Gallant will have any issues with him I just see a sophomore slump incoming.
Marcel Hossa

That's weird but it's the best way I can describe it.
I thought Marcel was one of the best bad players we've had?
Chytil had 22 in 42 despite playing piss-ant minutes and they were overwhelmingly even strength and primary. Like, that's amazing. He had his moments. He flashed skill at times that made you so angry because you knew he could and was never going to put it all together.
At least Chytil has a chance. He may never be anything more than an Artem Anisimov type, but he could still be a useful player. I personally see more high end skill from him than I ever did from Artie.

And then he can't receive a pass or runs into Lafreniere and you're just like "how is he great at even strength?"
I mean, if he keeps doing that at even strength, I don't care.![]()
Is there a connection between Gallant and Girardi?
If I'm Kakko, I follow around Raatanen all summer and just carbon copy what he has done.
Sad.
A guy who has so much knowledge when it comes to the ins and outs and history of wrestling but refuses to admit that he’s completely out of touch with what the industry is today and furthermore refuses to change with the times.
So much potential, but Steen was absolutely right about him.
