I might stop watching until this loser gets fired. Arrest Drury too.

I am convinced of 2 things now.

1. The mainstream hockey insiders do not have any clue what the Rangers org is doing and it makes them very mad. They do not like being snubbed. They are clickbait fishers and talk out of both sides of their mouth anyways. "I am hearing that something is happening around so-and-so, but it might not. So we will see." What the f*** kind of reporting is that? That kind of stuff should lose you your job.

2. Drury did not like information about Lavi getting out when it did and did not like the reception to the choice. There may be truth to they were going to hire Lavi, but the bad reception made him do something to make the Lavi hire taste better, or he is actually reconsidering based on fan backlash. Either way, I am not sure this is going well.

Where is the fan backlash happening other than here though? This place is the tiniest of minorities when it comes to the fan base. Drury couldn’t give two f***s what we think.

Clearly Drury doesn't if Hynes is a remotely serious candidate lol

For real but this has gone from It's going to be Roy to its going to be Q to its going to be Lavi to now its going to be Hynes.

The local people aside from Brooks pushing his Sullivan wet dream are the only people who have been on this, and by that I mean they openly admit that they have no idea what the f*** is happening instead of pretending like they know something when reality is that they know f*** all.

It's comical. At this rate this will end up taking another twist or 5 before they land on someone else and I'm here for it.

Oh twitter was very much on the same wavelength as this place with the Lavi stuff.

That was a move that would have been universally hated by everyone regardless of where they've voiced their opinions.

This place isn't the minority you think it is, and based on social media reactions, this place is pretty much in line with how most people have reacted to the various rumors of Lavi being the next coach. That is to say the most glowing reviews have been that of, "I don't really like it, but at least its not 'blank'".

Not really a good reception, but yeah maybe Drury wouldn't care. Who knows.

lmao. What a f***ing joke. Drury hiring the worst candidate possible because it's his boy? Drury is f***ing horrible.

Rather have the guy who can actually f***ing coach a team.
It’s an impossible position that he’s put himself in, he might as well hire someone he likes and gets along with.

It’s very obvious the Gallant firing wasn’t done with a clear direction in mind

Also my biggest issue with Lord Voldy is that he has basically spent no time away from the sport to evaluate what has gone wrong for him at his previous destinations.

Hopping from job to job almost seamlessly pretty much ensures that he'll just continue to do what he's going and that hasn't worked. NJ sucked and he was scapegoated a bit on his way out of there, but Nashville had a much better roster than what he had to work with in NJ and he did worse with that group than he did with the NJD group considering that.

I'd be fine with him as an assistant on Leach's staff, but thats about it.

The reality is - Most of the candidates are either unproven or just flat out suck. For real, PATRICK ROY is one of them and he isn't even the worst one (or the 2nd worst one... or maybe not even the 3rd worst.) Regardless of what the players said during the exit meetings, they should have told them to suck it up and just surrounded Gallant with better assistants. If it worked? Great. If not, then you could still revisit replacing Gallant with what would have likely been a more optimal pool of candidates.

Good to know the country club atmosphere runs strong through the brass as well as the team.

Firing Gorton/JD was the f***ing stupidest thing this franchise ever did.

Laviolette doesn't work cheap. He made $4.9M per season in Washington. That's a lot of money. Gallant made $3.5M per when he was the coach in NY. Frank Seravalli reported Calgary doesn't want to pay Gallant that type of money. The Flames will not be hiring him.

Doesn't Gallant still get his 3.5M for the next 2 years with the Rangers? He signed a 4 year contract with us 2 years ago. Regardless if he was fired, that doesn't just void what he is owed right? What would be the point of a contract then.

The 4th year was a team option. Gallant is owed one more season at $3.5M. The Rangers will be on the hook for most of the money with Calgary paying a smaller portion but it's the remaining years of the contract which Calgary doesn't want to pay Gallant $3.5M. They owe Sutter close to $5M per for the next two seasons.

I only sweat Dolan's money when it concerns the cap, and only because the NHL CBA made me care about that.
They can spend $20 million replacing Mark Ciaccio for all I care.

If they can fnd a coach that will actually help this team average 3 goals a game in the playoffs and score 300 during the regular season, they can pay him whatever they want.
