Rangers have lost 13 out of their last 17 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

Zibanejad is 1 game off of one of the worst turnovers you'll ever see. Him scoring a PP goal and actually getting a couple of shots on goal instead of missing the net is a positive step, sure. But he still singlehandedly killed several forechecks and was the worst center in xGF% at 5v5. The 5v5 goal his linemates scored happened without him on the ice. He didn't have a good game.
He scored, got several good shots on goal, caused turnovers by backchecking hard, and got the puck in the zone several times. Idk, I thought he had a decent game.

And I'd put zero value in the xGF% at 5v5 stat. Half of the NYR forwards were reflexively forcing passes into traffic, skating half speed through the neutral zone, and lazy on the boards. Zib was not among them.

 Zibanejad was not only among them, he was the leader of them.

No he was not. You can't possibly think that last night Zibanejad was on par with Smith, Kakko, Edstrom, and Berard.

We watch the game completely differently then. I don't think he was on par with those guys. I think he was worse, especially after the 1st period. Kakko didn't have his best game, but he was still better than Zibanejad was. The Edstrom-Carrick-Berard line was able to establish the forecheck and drew all 4 penalties the Sabres took in the game.

They were losing 5-0 to LA mid-way through the second period today.

This team seems like a real mess right now. Honestly, this team reminds me somewhat of the mid 2010s Rangers, who were really good for a while and then fell off quite fast. Granted, this iteration has more high-end talent and an elite defenseman.

But like the mid 2010s Rangers, it seems these Rangers rely heavily on goaltending and have forwards who can produce but aren't great at controlling the play at ES or five on five.

This team is worse than the 2010 rangers. They could at least play well 5v5 at times. They just lacked finish and high end talent.

This current was always about elite goaltending and special teams. But they lacked true physicality and will necessary to play honest hockey in all three zones.

I truly think they should unload and rebuild. Their stars are on the wrong side of 30.

Rags have that switch that they can turn on anytime. Would not be surprised they bond together and smash the upcoming gauntlet of games. It's not even January people. Pfffff.
They have been able to muster surprising comebacks and wins in past years.

But this year’s team is truly different even though it’s the same players. They’ve completely given up and are fundamentally the worst team in the NHL.

Trade anyone and everyone except those under 25 years old. Panarin, Trocheck, Kreider, Zibanejad should all be available - it's really time to blow that team up

Laviolette sucks so hard. I don't even bear some massive grudge towards the Rangers anymore but I can't deny that it's a little delicious to watch this dumbass wear his welcome out again and lose the room. Even faster than last time too, which is impressive.

Is he still playing guys who can't carry water and suppressing the minutes of effective young players?

What? I thought they’d be back to their Regular Season Champion ways after ditching the Trouba Train

What was the deal with trading Trouba?! The Rangers have been extra terrible after that trade. Trouba was the only player on the Rangers who could play hockey with his elbows. He put the fear of god in the opponents. Now there's nobody to keep the opponents on their toes and they can get away with shit they wouldn't have if Trouba was on the ice.
