Didn't see that coming.

What a horrible game to miss. Freaking work.

3 for 7 on the powerplay. What witchcraft is this?

Why do the national broadcasters hate NYR? You can clearly heart it, both on NBC and CBC.

They were obviously extremely dissapointed that NYR beat Pens and yesterday against the Habds it was so easy to notice that they did not like what they saw.....

It sucks big time that MSG don´t have any more games in these playoffs :(

I wish they still did it the old ways where the local markets get their home broadcasting team and the rest of the country gets the national broadcast.

However, when NBC pays 2 billion dollars for the rights, I assume they want everyone to be watching their broadcast (ads).

BTW, anyone see the video on NHL.com of Nash mic'd up for Kreider's goal? He basically whispers yes to himself, then says "way to go kiddo" to Kreids.

Kreider has said in interviews that Nash has been the biggest influence in him becoming a pro. It's good to see that Nash has taken on the mentor role to a guy like Kreider.

I wish we could still watch playoff games this late into the playoffs with Sam, Joe, and Dave. I would have loved - LOVED - to hear Sam and Joe during that last series.

I don't know why NBC can't carry the national televised portion and MSG can't carry it locally. I think what ever revenue MSG were to generate, the majority of it could still be forked over to NBC.

Thing is not everyone in the local area has MSG. Pretty much everyone with a TV has NBC so it's all about the accessibility..

Anyone see that behind the scenes feature on NHL network for last series vs the Pens? The show Jokinen skating by Hank after a period chirping him saying "you're the best king, you're the best eh?"

Rangers come off as a way classier team than the Pens (not that we didn't already know that) and the Pens come off as entitled, truly believing they were going to win. Just the look in their eyes. They clearly thought when they went up 3-1 in our barn that the series was over.

True poetic justice that series was.

Atta boys! Well done NYR! Now 3 more like this one please. Hard not to root for you guys seeing what Marty is going thru. I think you guys can ride that emotional wave like we did with Horton's in 2011. Will be rooting for you for the remainder of the playoffs.

The Rangers stayed out of the box and didn't give Montreal much on their PP. They were 0 for 3 but two of them came late in the third when the score was 7-2. The Rangers did a good job on the first MTL PP late in the 2nd period. MTL had 8 PPGs against Boston.

Ryan McDonagh has played much better the last 4 games. The Rangers have won all 4. Maybe he got healthier as the playoffs have gone on. Maybe it was AV calling him out after game 4. He still looks a little limited. The goal by Bourque was on McDonagh. He is not the McDonagh from late in the season before the Burrows hit but he is starting to resemble that player.

Kreider played a lousy first period. He turned the puck over in the neutral zone and failed to get the puck out in another sequence. He used his speed to create 2 chances in the 2nd. Set up Zuccarello for another scoring chance. Hit the post. Later he scored the goal. Net presence on the PP.

The Rangers have won 4 in a row.

Congratz on your win Rangers, you deserve it. I'm so disappointed with the Habs right now. I just hope they come to play more then half a period next game. Btw all the real Habs fan know Kreider didn't try to injure Price, it was clearly a accident. Its just a few idiots who are looking for a excuse for this ass whooping. These clowns are making us look bad.

Good luck for game 2

I'm genuinely puzzled because I saw a lot of Montreal fans say that the Rangers PK is mediocre. It's been fantastic for a very long time

This is the most unusual unexpected 4 games I have ever seen by these Rangers. Maybe there is something to going in to this with the 'same old Rangers' mentality.

The Rangers swung the pendulum hard in their direction in Game 1. How do you keep it on that side without going too far? The swing killed the Penguins (they swung it too far in their direction) and couldn't get it back.

Squeezed out that excruciatingly intense win in Pittsburgh, just to kick the living **** out of Montreal the next game. Wild.

Been a hell of a ride so far. Seems so long ago we were wondering whether Emery or Mason would be starting, lol.

Yeah and how the Rangers really weren't that much better than Philadelphia or that this team wasn't as good as the Torts team. Those were the days. :sarcasm:

I had the idea that the Canadiens weren't really ready the way they needed to be for yesterday's game. To me it was and aberration-a good aberration but still an aberration. I expect the Canadiens will be a lot better on Monday. Really I envision 2-1, 3-2 games the rest of the way. I also expect it to go 6, 7 games. Not a good idea to run and gun with the Rangers. I don't think it would be a good idea for the Rangers to try and run and gun with the Canadiens--got to take care of your own end first--that was one of the major mistakes Montreal as a team made yesterday--trying to force too much. I think they'll rectify that. The Rangers don't play like the Bruins--got to adjust for that.

I would watch what you say around here, the the righteous police of objectivity will shout you down as a whiny conspiracy theorist.

I truly love reading most of your posts, very lucid and concise. Great job RB, keep them coming. I wish you would post during the games more.

Any word on Brassard yet, is he gonna be okay for Game 2, or will he have to miss some time??? 3 question marks for 3 questions :crossfing
