I want the Rangers to make it , but the team sucks big time. Very good players coming to this team turn into average players. Torts needs to just go away.

The good thing is that we have a better schedule than the Jets and a game in hand. We may need to go 5 and 1 (Sabres) to make it.

Absolutely. Once every ten bad yrs or so any team will have a "good" season. Ours was last season.

Using Torts as a scapegoat is lazy and childish. I'll say that the 2nd goal is on him for putting Richards out there for a PK faceoff in the defensive zone, but It's a god damn insult to all of logic to hail our players as heroes when they win and blame it all on Torts when the lose.
Put a little more effort into the analysis people. Every loss can't be on Torts, every win isn't "in spite" of him.

I'v read this from several posters, that Zucc,Brassard and Stepan, was the only forwards trying. How come Zucc get's 16 biggest looser votes then?

I bet Coach Gretzky sounded unreal to Phoenix.
A great hockey player does not make a great coach. Not to say Messier would undoubtedly be a bad coach and honestly I'd be willing to try anything..Why not Messier as coach and Leetch as assistant?
I really want Uffe Samuelsson, who has been head coaching Modo from SEL, last two years, but it looks like he is offered a job in the bolts organization.

One bad year does not a bad player make. This goes double if that bad year happens to be half the length of a regular season.

As others have probably stated it looks like last season's success was an anomaly. This team, with all it's talent, should be fighting for 1st not 8th. I have to think it has something to do with the leadership and system (i.e. Torts).
Anyway, last night was an abomination to the Hockey Gods. I hate losing to the flyers.

If he lets in more than 2 goals its a fight. It is a shame. No goaltender should have that amount of pressure put upon him.

Isn't that the case of at least 28 other NHL teams? The nhl win % trailing after 1 period is 26%. What's the league winning percentage when a team goes down 2-0 after the first?
Anyhow - the Rangers have everything in front of them. Losing one game where they were completely unready to play doesn't mean they are going on a 10 game losing streak.

I was at the game... horrible. Once again we 'dominate in shots' which means nothing. It seemed as though the Flyers had all the better chances. Yes, Mason made some great saves, but that is no excuse to play so poorly with the playoffs on the line to a team that is out.
Torts has to go. Nash is already slowly turning into Gaborik with this system. Every once in a while he goes against the grain and tries to make a play himself, which usually sparks the team. If he doesn't, the team is flat.
Richards should be bought out in the off-season. I don't care what he did last year. With him on the team taking that cap hit, this team has zero chance at winning a cup. Sign a 2C in the off season and we will have two 2C's with Stepan and a very good 3C in Brassard.
