Post-Game Talk: Rangers @ Flyers 04/07/18 - That’s All Folks

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
The same regime that made the playoffs 12 out of 13 years and has been to 3 conference finals in 6/7 years. Get a grip.

This doesn't happen if Lundqvist doesn't fall from the sky.

Everyone says "well we don't know that." What indicates it would have gone better? Where does the confidence in the New York Rangers come from? Please explain it to me.

Yup and Lundqvist was the only talent on the team I suppose. Lets forget about McDonagh, Kreider, Zucc, Jagr, Stralman, Stepan, Nash, Brassard etc etc etc...

As usual you're taking a kernel of what may or may not be a good point, and just slathering it in hyperbole and hysterics.

There is not a lot to not complain about.

You can be a fan and still be extremely frustrated with your teams flaws and complain about said flaws.
Of course you can, this team is not run perfectly by any means. But to actively keep being negative on everything while not looking at any of the bright sides that this team has that's ridiculous imo.
This teams prospect pool is the best its been in years and its just going to get better with the draft this year.

Then explain to me why I should have confidence in this team piloting a rebuild.

He's a good prospect who had a solid year, with elite upside.

He isn't single-handedly altering this franchise.
But finding him when nearly no one had him as a first-round pick, and absolutely nailing it shows they know what they're doing when it comes to drafting. Frankly I'm excited to see what Gordie and the Boys can do this draft with atleast 5 picks (possibly more depending on potential Zuc, Names, Spooner trades) in the first two rounds when in most recent drafts they've been lucky to have two

Both Andersson and Chytil are in the same boat as the majority of their draft class. Pretty much everyone other than the top 2 picks.

We will have a much better idea of where this franchise stands after this draft.

Well it won't happen 2 years in a row for you Zucc:popcorn:
On the other hand, what has happened to him 3 years in a row now is that he is the Rangers point leader (the first to do that since Jagr i think ?). Not that it means much, i just thought it a fun retort to your comment :)

Get Chytil a ****ing sniper!!!
Kovy's the obvious one but I'd be very chill with Thomas Vanek, two years, decent money. The things that get said about him are the same things that get said about every high-skill player on bad teams, freaking Jack Eichel's getting it now. Gaborik and Kessel looked pretty good winning the Stanley Cup, right?

It's easy to complain about bringing more old men to the Rangers but at a certain point, our young guys are either going to play with Careys and Veseys or they're going to play with good players.

Then explain to me why I should have confidence in this team piloting a rebuild.
First and foremost, we have a GM who not only identified a need to rebuild, he acted on it. That in itself is the most important part of rebuilding; any team can just sell off valuable pieces for prospects and picks. Not to mention this management is currently the envy of cities like Vancouver, Montreal, and Detroit.

Only after that comes the values of trades and acquisitions*,

*I don't even know what you in particular are upset about the moves Gorton has made. Signed Shattenkirk and Smith, traded Miller (who I do not remember you having anything nice to say about, at all). I'd say his only real gaff so far has been the whole Brendan Smith ordeal. I don't know what other trade you could possibly be so upset about, maybe the Eric Staal trade? As we've been seeing in Minnesota, Eric Staal is still a very good player. I believe Gorton brought back, what, 6 defense prospects during the TDL? Not to mention DeAngelo. He obviously sees the issues and is taking steps to address it. Holden trade worked out great, even sold him off for more than we paid. Now it looks like AV will be gone next year....Gorton fixes mistakes he makes.

Lias Andersson was the 3rd ranked European skater, and you're comparing him to Dylan McIlrath? Not to mention the Chytil pick, who is popping up in the Top-10 in most people's re-drafts.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a massive amount of faith in this FO. But, how do they not get credit for finding Lundqvist? I guess this means that Detroit shouldn't get credit for finding Datsyuk and Zetterberg either right? They just "fell from the sky"?

RIP NYR 2018

Delete your account and GTFO!

PS..Mods..Thanks for putting up with another year of my shit ;) lol.

Although we may not all agree on everything, we all want what's best for our team.

Cheers!
