Is they any confirmation on who the home team is?

I would assume the Rangers, wouldn't really make sense with the Devils.

Though I do remember some unusual clues about possibly hosting an outdoor game sometime soon. Like STH were told they would receive refunds in such a case explicitly and a guest services person trying to convince me to get seasons hinted something of the sort would be happening.

Doesn't make a difference.. if you want to go, you'll have an opportunity to buy tickets regardless of who's the home team.

NHL is unfortunately miscalculating if they thing somehow they're going to feed off of Super Bowl attention in NY for coverage. Would have been much wiser to keep the dates away from then.

definitely...i wish the devils would issue the white ones.

I wish they would actually alternate them both as a third jersey. I actually really like the "modern" version of the red one. The originals from the 80s/early 90s partly looked as bad as they did because the quality of the design of jerseys back then looked nowhere near as polished as they do now.

Cheaper materials/fabrics, oddly proportioned crests/logos on the front. Pretty easy to make the devil's logo and the old green/red/white colors look like total ass under those circumstances.

Seeing reports that the Devils are the home team for this game. Dunno if thats true or not.

As a matter of fact they are saying the Rangers are the away team for both games.

That weekend is normally the All-Star Game. With the Olympics next year and likely no All-Star break they still want a big event for that weekend. Those you get the game on Saturday in LA between the LA teams and the Sunday game between the Devils and Rangers. The NYR-NYI game is to appease Wang for basically excluding the Islanders. The BC place game is Canadian appeasement even though the Leafs are in the big one.

Wont make a difference because it sure as hell wont feel that way when it happens. I expect 65-35 for NYR/NJ in terms of fan makeup. Probably even more for NYR when they play the Isles (unless the bandwagon gets large because of this year's yet to be played playoffs..).

Its gonna be a highly sought after ticket, too. Being close to the Superbowl wont matter, especially if the Giants or Jets (lol) arent in the game. Hockey @ THE Yankee Stadium will be a big event around here.

I agree keep in mind its Super Bowl week their will be A TON of people in this area that are not normally and its a fun event to go to so people will get tickets even if they are just here for the Super Bowl.

I work for a Law Enforcement agency in Bergen County they are projecting an influx of about 150,000+ additional people in Bergen County and New York just for the Super Bowl. Could be a lot more then that also.

The games will be well attended regardless of when they're held. It's New York freaking City. But they won't get the media coverage they could have attracted at a different time.

If the Packers somehow get to the Super Bowl next year, I'll have to choose between which game to go to

Any idea when tickets go on sale for this game? I'd make the trip to New York for sure for this....
