Who?

Someone worth giving up assets. During the season Sather has been good with trades to bring in players who can log some minutes. Powe was a good start, but this team could use someone that makes a difference every so often. You have to pony up for those guys.

Think Roman Hamerlik in 2003, whoever is equivalent to that, good enough?

I was hoping for a veteran presence to solidify the #6 spot - dont think I meant this much of a veteran.

Besides, Im not sure how his experiences will really help. Hamrlik has been on some god-awful teams in his 20+ year career.

A couple of years back he had a good camp with the Rangers and played very physical. Did his season with Lockomotiv in Russia end if so would he be available... .not much offense but a physical defenseman..

The point of my post was you get what you pay for. I never said it would be cheap, that was kind of the point.

On paper none of this makes any difference to fans, but when the revolving door starts and doesn't seem to stop it affects the team on some level.

My focus, yet again, is this GM's absolute failure to have just SOME depth so that we don't have to consider every teams aging scraps.

The only asset we're giving up is cap space for a 35+ contract. There's some risk ($) there. Of course, if he had a $750K contract and was younger, he would be tradeable and have never been on waivers.

Veteran depth. He knows whats expected, he gets to play on a contender. Doesnt cost an asset.


Team is not looking to do any more trades. They are just now getting some chemistry back from all the guys that left during the summer.

He's a resilient fellow I'll give him that. He's played 75+ games a season almost every year
