Biron
Boyle

HM: Hagelin, Stepan, Callahan, Stralman

Horrible ten minutes, but the last 50 was typical Rangers' hockey. Great game all-around from the team, only Gilroy really struggled IMO.

I honestly did not think Nash had that great of a game. I still think that Hagelin/Stepan/Nash should be re-united.

Damn completely slept through this one. 10:30 on a Sunday is too early.

Planned on not checking the score, but somebody on facebook made a status about the win.

Glad to hear they played well. Really like who showed up on the boxscore, the team needs contributions from its top players consistently. I'm happy for Marty also, the guy really is a great backup, 5-hole or not.

Also I wouldn't get too excited over Boyle just yet. He played the way he's capable of after he was scratched earlier in the year also, then went back to his usual complacent, dangling self.

With all the love for Boyle, (I didn't watch the game btw, sleeping) was he actually that effective or are we all just giving him the thumbs up because of goal/GWG?

He was using his size and getting in on the forecheck all night. Looked like the Boyle of last year.

honestly I don't recall seeing Gilroy much, which I take as a good thing, but when I did notice him I thought he was doing good things. Nobody got behind, which is a concern I have when eminger/bickel/hamrlik are playing.

I went with cally Biron and boyle. Cally was all over the place as usual and biron was key mainly in the first period. Boyle played well not just the goal, but he was hitting engaged, drove to the net a lot, made good passes.

Finally an early start and I actually miss it.

Glad to see Boyle started to look like a hockey player again. And good for Marty to get a win.

I know ESPN sucking is beating a dead horse, but I enjoyed the highlights today: Derek Steppin, Michael Del Zoe-toe, and Ryan Callyin.

that was brutal :laugh::laugh:

after the first goal biron really locked it down. good for him. ever since stepans bad start to the season hes been fantastic. i didnt think richards was bad but he was pretty invisible outside of his goal. id love for this guy to get back to form because he was excellent for us last year.

also, rick nash. wow. he has been great all year but i was a little off-put at the beginning of the year when he wasnt putting in too many goals but now that the points are flowing its undeniable he is a beast.

I was at the game, anybody else there?

We had many more fans than when I went last season, several in section 413 with a nice "Let's Go Rangers" chant started by me.
After goals we did the goal song.

I was at the game, with my fiancee and soon-to-be stepson. It was his first game. Unfortunately for him and mommy, they are Caps fans. And love for them aside, you know I was starting LGR chants at every chance. ;)

I heard that. I was in 407. :)

Coming from a Boyle defender, I'd say a little bit of both. In this game... I don't know that he played so well that he deserves as much praise as he's getting in this thread; but he definitely looked stronger on the puck, had solid defensive play, threw the body around a bit more, and obviously got the goal. Good on him, hope he keeps it up.

He looked better, but it wasn't like he was a completely different Boyle than we've been getting so far this season. Its pretty ridiculous how on these boards he can be considered an AHL'er one day, but then he gets a meh goal and suddenly everyone loves him (the shot was nice, but its not like it was a direct result of some good play he made, grinding, or extra effort on that shift). He hasn't been playing as well as we all know he's capable, but he hasn't been horrible either -- and certainly doesn't deserve to be replaced with Bickel. I'm all for Torts playing mind games, and benching him to light a fire under his ass; but that is very different than what people have called for in terms of just completely getting him off the team or sending him to the AHL permanently.

That was me!
Where you at warm ups?
Nice to see so many Ranger fans.

Nah. Fiancee doesn't like the Metro with the kid (little boy), so we drove and it took forever. LOL. I did see a lot more Rangers fans today than in the past few seasons though. So that was good.

I was the jerk waving goodbye to everyone and telling everyone to get home safely, thanks for coming, etc after the fourth goal. Infuriating Caps fans is second only to doing the same to Debbies fans for me.

yep, great game to go to. sat in section 121 and enjoyed hearing the let's go ranger chants from above. handed out a few high fives to fellow Ranger fans after the game.

Hah; I was in section 412 -- loved the LGR chants and goal songs. :handclap::handclap:
