B's fan coming in peace. In general I'm a fan of hockey and love to see prospect, etc. - curious who on tonight's proposed NYR roster is someone the fan base is excited about?

From the B's side, Merkulov has show some potential and is someone much of the fanbase is looking forward to seeing.
Lafreniere is in tonight so that's the big name out of the group.

From the newer prospects Kravtsov seems to be the guy people are really pushing for. There was some drama about not reporting to the AHL last season. He's got talent, and has a high level skillset but hasn't had a chance to really perform.

Cuylle is a fun prospect for the portion of the fanbase that likes the rough power forward. Would keep an eye on him going against Frederick tonight.

Trevigno is full of piss and vinegar. Signed out of College. Wanted to play for his fav team.

Robertson is an solid prospect for the D but is buried on the depth chart.

Rydahl is a big bodied winger who has really good skating. Came over from Sweden. He's already 28 but this is his chance to stay with an NHL club.

Robertson is not buried on the depth chart like Lundkvist was. LD is an issue after Jones.

I’d go with

Miller Trouba
Lindgren Fox
Jones (Robertson) Schneider

Jones vs Quicker team, Robertson vs the bigger physical teams.

Hajek waived or traded

id switch Robertson and Jones depending on team they play against and how they been playing.

There is no point in doing what you're suggesting, these guys are still young and needs reps.

One plays with the Rangers, one will play with Hartford. There may be a spot for both of them next year depending on how the cap situation looks.

Hajek will not be waived, he may win the 6D job outright in fact. Listen to Gallant. He keeps reminding everyone, Hajek paid his dues.

LD3 is the weakest spot on the team, they arent just gonna waive the one player with the most experience there outside of Tinordi.

Hajek also makes 125K less than Jones and that money, however little it will be, will help cap space accrue as the season goes along

Which is why Jones and Robertson if not playing, will likely be getting top minutes in Hartford.

I could see a Jones/Hajek battle for 6th and after they settle on one of them (Hajek) Tinordi will be the 7th

Big power move to the net, and shoot into the goalie's chest.
Thanks, Captain Obvious.

The 2000s called. They want their Captain Obvious back.

I kid. I kid.

For an encore tonight Joe will interview the guy who played Racki in Youngblood during the first intermission.

quite the lineup, only 3 of their top 10 F's

glad they are playing the signed-D guys over Bartkowski

will be good to see Troch, Cuylle, Robertson in NYR colors
and get looks at young RD's Emberson and Skinner, with Nils now gone

Turner Elson is 30, 9 year pro,
a guy you hope NYR won't need to call up, but lets see how he looks
( CJ Smith probably gets a similar game, in one of next 2)

I didn't think either of them were.

The f*** nut Islander schmuck held his stick under his armpit for the first one and the 2nd one was really soft.

He was owning the Isles along the walls (Including guys who are going to be starting on D for them and he completely bullied Barzal on one sequence) while also breaking up multiple attempted exits by the Isles. Easy 4th line floor but I really hope the offense comes along a bit because all these skills are also super valuable higher in the lineup.

Not surprised, I only got a good look at one of them to be honest.

Similar to Othmann and Trivigno, these guys are might possibly grow a bit more but definitely will thicken up/strengthen too. They're already showing that they're like a caged animal once let loose and hounding pucks and opponents. Would have really liked to see more during the preseason even though I understand the position they're in on the roster.

I seen quite a bit of Othmann and Sykora during WJHC - Sykora has a motor that never comes off high idle. I wouldn't be surprised if he slept while running on a treadmill.

edit: (corrected spelling on Bobby!)

Or misses the net completely and he falls down into the goalie and gets called for goalie interference. Ive seen enough of Gauthier to know he is not an NHL player.
no, no -- this is the one time of year the move works, giving us all hope that he's turned the corner and will suddenly become effective. The truth is, he'd be a regular NHL player if the rest of his game was there. If he played strong in his own zone. PKd. Took the body in a way that made an impact. He'd be a regular 4th liner. But because his mind is always 2-3 steps behind his body it's kept him stuck without a role.

That and Boston seems to be the only team he can score against.

Emberson played with Miller right?

Pretty sure Bart is getting released based on him being in group C at practice but I guess he could get a AHL role

I’m not gonna freak W Hajek at 7 D cause I know Robertson will get a look over him if there’s a long term injury
