We're integrating a new top line player, a rookie in Kreider, Halpern, pyatt and seagal....is anyone really all that surprised that a Bruins team that's basically played together for like 3 straight years creamed us?

This is a good point and important. More than a third of our forwards weren't here last season. It explains some of why the team couldn't stop passing to no one or hitting players in the body, instead of on the stick, with passes.

Our team is a little rusty but there were good things to take from this game... like Hank playing fantastic. I have little doubt they can right this ship after 1 game with 47 to go.

Hank wasn't playing and he looked in midseason form.

There is no way to prove it definitively. For all we know, the whole puck didn't cross the line. IMO, both scenarios are equally as likely. If it is registered as a save, it WILL be all over the high light reels. You can bank on that.

That said, unless you had x-ray vision (and I don't think anyone here is Clark Kent), there is no way you can say "that puck was in the net." His whole glove wasn't over the line, thus, the whole puck may not have been over the line. And you couldn't even see where the puck was in his glove.
 
Hank, McD and MDZ were all very, very good.

The forwards need to stop doing dump and chase every single time they take the zone. If you want to use that as your primary strategy, that's one thing, but they were doing it time after time after time. You make it real easy for your opponents to defend against you when you play like that.

Well I will abstain from commenting it other than saying a lack of discipline & organization drew too many penalties that destroyed any rhythm we might build. And our PP sux as always. Way to slow, deliberate and unfocused.

Last years 1st game was even worse IMO
We saw where that went
 
gabby looked like he didnt give a **** but he has had lazy moments in the past. He missed 2 wide openn nets. Hagelin should play on the third line. Krieder should move up with stepan and gaborik
 
One thing I will say ... it's not the team that starts out hot that wins it all ... it's the team who found their chemistry and got hot late. Having said that, this is a very short season, not a lot of time for error.
 
I guess what I'm really trying to say is that we lacked execution of a game plan. Not sure I could tell what the game plan was from that performance. Too many execution errors in FOs, passes, puck handling and battles and that led the team to play a scrambling game like we did against NJ int he playoffs. Hank bailed us out on the two wins in that series and tonight, a few bounces that are regrettable and a few untimely penalties, we found ourselves right back to the playoff games where fans could very comfortable set up a picnic area in the offensive zone and have some sandwiches and watch us playing in our own zone for minutes at a time.

I've never thought that Hags was good enough to be a first line player. He's perfect on the 3rd.
 
What a surprise the PP was awful. It has to be the coaching, not the personnel.

Some of those guys looked like they hadn't skated in months like Hagelin (who is one of my favorite Rangers). Too many drop passes.

Also, once again with Bickell, the guy is terrible, you have two guys in Gilroy and Emminger who can skate, use them..Bickell can't even handle a pass.

If Halpern isn't doing well on faceoffs, that a huge problem.
 
Its not so much that we lots its how we lost. If we played hard and and more crisp but came up short i could understand. But lets be honest the Bruins kicked our ass for 3 periods
 
We lost to 2 deflections and a rebound..

We were outplayed, outsmarted and out muscled in every which way we could've been..

Hags should be a healthy scratch next game, he looked terrified and lost out there..

I consider a constant dump of the puck into the offensive zone to be shortchanging yourself. Especially on the powerplay, what would a valid argument be for it? You get all this talent, but you tell them to use their puckhandling and possession skills only once it has been regained off the boards, after a battle.

Undeservingly, Kreider gets bumped up perhaps. Thought Richards and Nash were great and have potential there. Stepan is really not impressing.
