Its unfortunate that we wont get anything useful out of this because our beat writers only ask dumb questions. I guess we'll find out Fox was hurt (duh), and maybe Mika, who was kind clearly hobbled after the Burns cross check. Trouba who knows. Idk if he was hurt or just slow as molasses now. Doesnt excuse how wildly out of position he always was
I've wondered if he was 100% healed when he came back from his injury.

Why all the hate for Drury? Most of the moves that have been detrimental to us were made by Gorton. The Drury moves have been fine for the most part and I believe the drafting has improved.

I'm not a fan of him personally based on how I've heard he is as a human, but that's meaningless to me as a fan of the team unless it got to the point where he's like abusive.

Other than the Zib contract, which I think almost any GM would have given out, he's been pretty handcuffed in doing much more than he has and so far has done a decent job.

I also sense he is moving the team from an east-west, low shot volume culture to a north-south, high shot volume culture, which is something I've been hoping for since I can remember. Othmann, Perreault, Sykora, etc.

f*** spittin schiclets. They were the same ones talking about how good it was for teams like the kings, lightning and caps to all get after it at clubs and shit between games. They just don't like the Rangers. Mysteriously silent when it turned out those teams had multiple players with drug and alcohol problems.

The same people who want Drury fired are the people who have seen Buffalo and Detroit have 10 year rebuilds with staff and player turnover and say "I want that for us".

It's time for him to put his mark on the team imo. Trade some of the Gorton mediocrity for players who fit the style we need, and call up the young hungry prospects who play a more aggressive game.

With those NMC, I will be shocked if he did that, although it is needed. Mika has to go.

Mika isnt who I was referring to. He isnt moving on. Better to accept that now than pining for an impossibility all summer. Trouba and Kreider are far more on the chopping block. Less trade protection and less valuable positions.

The fact that Gorton was lauded on this board, despite being an absolutely terrible GM, while Drury is hated for literally no reason, says everything you need to know about the collective intelligence of many posters here.

Gorton would literally sign some random ass college player that could maybe crack the AHL roster and people would come clamoring “good asset management by Gorton” like he was Larry f***ing Fink.

In Drury I trust. He’s been a winner at every level since little league baseball.
Seems like a ruthless, no nonsense guy.
Just what you want in your teams GM.

I would keep Kreider. Swap him with Panarin and get Mika a RW not named Vesey, Wheeler or whatever AHL/bottom of the barrel placeholder that was going on this season.

Drury is an average GM

Everyone is on HF until you win a Cup. Then you are a supergenius mastermind who everyone should be terrified to trade with. except Yzerman who hasnt won anything and still gets that moniker for some reason.

I like that and prefer to keep Chris, just being realistic that he is more tradeable than Mika or Panarin.

Who are you trading him for that's going to get the Rangers over the hump?

I would need to be blown away to trade him. We aren't in a cap crunch and 40 goals is harder to replace than some of the locals would have you believe. I do think Dallas is an interesting spot. Pavs may retire and Duchene looks to be moving on as well. Marchment and Stanko for Kreider and Lindgren? Kind of a shakeup trade for 2 very good teams if they feel the need to do so. Just daydreaming at my desk so dont flame me.

Yeah because his contract still provides surplus value.

Thats a reason to keep him. I don't think they're going to be able to move Zibanejad (but by all means, give it a look) and I would hope that they at least shop Panarin to see what the interest/return is. All 3 will probably be back next year and thats fine, they have other players who are more problematic than them. If those guys are back, then we're in trouble.
