Stop, they are getting their asses kicked. Binnington gave up a terrible goal too so we can play that game and still we'd be losing.

I agree. Henrik can be a lot better tonight. But Binnington has looked shakey the whole game, gave up a bad goal to Chytil in the first.

Blues are a much better team. This is not the Devils. This is the defending Stanley Cup Champions who have the 2nd best record in the NHL this season [missing Tarasenko for a huge chunk of it]. You can put Shesterkin, Georgiev, or any of the flavor of the month goaltenders like Jarry, and this is still a loss.

To pretend like we would be winning, when the Blues have carried the play, is just a false notion. They're a better team. These guys are poised for another Cup run. We are poised to finish bottom 10 in the NHL.

- While I agree that Hank is no longer a game-stealing goalie, the team also seems to play measurably worse when he is in the net than Georgiev or Shesty.

Whether that's random error or something else is unclear.
I actually agree with this although I have no idea how one would find out if it’s true

It just feels like when Hank is playing the team is a little more likely to say “eh Hank can save that” and he’s not consistently that guy anymore

STL is a big nasty team.
I don't see a scenario where you don't play Haley in this game.
I won't fault DQ for that decision.

He also generally faces better teams.

Georgiev had 5 starts against the Devils and Senators. Shesterkin faced a good team in the Avalanche, and then pumped up his SV% against the Devils.

Even Georgiev, next game against the Islanders, they're a low scoring team. They will probably lose to the Islanders, but they probably wont give up much more than 3 goals.

Craig Berube..4th line plug and one of the biggest goons to ever play the game has a very solid defensive scheme.
That is all..

absolutely pathetic defense. Zero structure. Just players skating by waving at pucks. Not an NHL defensive scheme. Barely AHL. College hockey.

When you get back to 3-2 in this game and then you roll out the 4th line which had been bad thus far in the game, completely useless, that makes you a stupid stupid coach.

Playing Fogarty instead makes the 4th line marginally better at best. If we're being honest Nieves is a better player than any of Haley, McKegg, Smith (as a forward) or Fogarty. He has size, skating and better defensive awareness that is superior to all those guys. Even though Boo is not very creative he is also better offensively.
