If Hank is out a couple feet on that tying goal, it becomes a routine save. It's not like the shot was like picking a corner, it went by his pad cuz he was playing deep and was down. Upright and square and playing a normal distance from the goal line would have meant 2 points.

Exactly what I saw. He was deep in his net for some reason.

BTW, the Rangers have an 86% chance of getting the 2 seed.

Yeah, we're in real good shape here. We have OTT, CAR, BUF, MTL, Philly has BOS, BUF, FLA, TB, PIT, CAR and we've got the tie break. If we can win 3 of those 4, I really don't see Philly closing out 5-0-1 or 6-0-0.

Well if Girardi played like a semi-competent dman we also have 2 points. That's a routine play that he screwed up horribly.

Spoken like someone who's never played.

I'm sorry, but two-on-ones happen. All the time. Many times during a game. Girardi's pinch was fine. If anything, the bigger blame would go on MSL.

Moore's lazy, lazy, lazy play on the 2-on-1 was terrible. He played the passer (which is risky in the first place) so poorly. If you're going to play the passer, you need to go down or at least make it difficult on him. He lazily drifted towards the passer and stuck his stick out. It gave the passer all the ice in the world to make a play.

The normal play there is to push the passer to the outside and take the potential shooter. Let the goalie deal with the passer. The riskier play is to play the passer. But if you're going to take that risk, you need to do it correctly. Moore was so poor on that play it's not even funny. The mistake he made was something that should have been corrected in his game when he was a pee-wee.

There's no defending that horrible, God-awful, lazy ass play by Moore. None. Anyone who has ever played defense in their life should be pissed at him for that garbage.

But yeah. Clearly all on Girardi. Give me a break.

You keep going over Moore play okay we get it ... he didn't make a highlight reel defensive play to stop a two on one...

But The pinch that G made was to a puck he wasn't ever going to to no reason for him to pinch which would never had put Moore in this whole situation

Moore is a third pair defensemen. G is suppose to be a top pair defensemen, No reason for him to take that risk without a forward even high to cover him ....

But your right Moore should have played the defensive play better, maybe you take for granted watching MCD their to cover up G mistakes :help::help:

BTW I'm happy you know so much about hockey must be fun being the captain of your mens roller hockey team

Oh jesus, I'm pissed but one game where we barely lost in a shootout to a team that has more than 100 points is the reason we won't have success in the playoffs. Give me a ****ing break. :shakehead

They have consistently rolled over when the opposition is heavier and faster.

Believe what you want. When the playoffs come around and they need contributions from players they haven't been getting contributions from and face heavy teams in 7 game series, don't be so shocked when they go back into their shell.

I know we've sucked at home, but I'm glad all 3 are at home. Less of a chance that these will be trap games and don't have to worry about the crowd factor for inferior teams.

But But But we have so much speed... why do we have to get a big hard working player for the playoffs:sarcasm:

If by rolled over you mean they lost in a skills competition on a tying goal that came in the final minute without their best player and one of the best defensemen in the league then yes. They outplayed St. Louis and lost in part due to a fluke goal in the first. They beat LA before the Rangers were even halfway decent and although they were outplayed in the 2nd game they still lost 1-0. They outplayed Boston twice and mostly lost because of goaltending not size. The other time they got really outplayed but they still only lost 3-2 after leading 2-1 going into the 3rd. I don't see this rolled over ********. Oh and we beat the Avs 5-1 at home and made them look like fools. This was an even game for 2 periods, and the Avs pressed in the third at home (don't forget the altitude) with McDonagh. Hell, I don't remember one super dangerous shot in the 3rd. Possession was terrible and I take that seriously, but Lundqvist wasn't exactly facing breakaways all 3rd. They actually played pretty well defensively.

you do realize in a 7 game series all this goes right out the window right?:naughty:

Are the Avs even heavier? Jesus. They're a fast team if anything. We had a ****** 3rd and were a minute away from winning. I remember the 11-12 "tough gritty" team get absolutely schooled by the Bruins in every which way, but Lundqvist had a HOF game and we beat them 3-0. Like if you compared that game to this one the Rangers look dominant in this game. That tough gritty team got played more than this team. Somehow this team always rolls over but that team was tough and gritty and a cup contender.

That third period was an absolutely disgusting effort.

Nothing to do with the effort. The team was playing hard, they were just playing a good desperate team. It happens. Look at Boston's game against Philly last week. It was way worse. But Boston won in a skills competition and Boston is BIG AND TUUUUUUUFFFFFF so it's ok.

Really would've liked to get the extra point to get closer to overtaking the Habs and Tampa in the conference. That said, I'm very satisfied with 5 out of 8 points this road trip.

Take care of business against teams that we should beat and 1st round home ice is ours.

eh, it doesnt really matter...we wouldnt play either of them till the ECF, and they'd likely have to go through Bawstun to boot.

we're the best road team in the East last time I checked, so I'm not super concerned with home ice advantage....

I disagree with this.

They played it safe at the end of a west coast swing (Honestly, I think its a bit unfair they had to make this trip so late in the season but whatever, they got through it) against one of the West's best with out their top D man. Just IMO, but I think they wanted to make sure that they secured at least a point and they did just that.

Colorado didn't really get a heck of a lot generated in the third either. Lots of bad angle shots and very few second chance opportunities until the Barrie goal. Under different circumstances, I'm sure they try and shoot for that third goal instead of going into a shell for the final 20. If this were a playoff game or a game that really mattered, I'd be pretty pissed, but I have no problem with the conservative third period.

I suppose they could have "gone for it" and possibly put the game away, but they could have also blown the lead completely and lost in regulation ala Boston against Detroit.

All in all, no one should be upset with a 2-1-1 road trip, especially after they gave away two points in Calgary.

They have to get that PP figured out though.

Anyone else hate Zucc's decision making sometimes? I've never seen such a smart player make so many stupid decisions. Their best chance in the 3rd (was Boyle's play in the 3rd?) and Zucc passes it to Pouliot on the goalline. I honestly think the guy underrates his own shot. He was in the much better shooting position. The guy's vision is world class but he just makes questionable decisions on the rush.

If we play Philly it matters, IMO. The home team won each game this year.

Columbus, not so much, but it's going to be a very hostile environment there too. Either way, a series against Columbus or Philly goes 7, I think.

That was a fast paced and exciting game. The Avs play hungry and fast...Good team they have.

Lundqvist was sharp, sucked we didnt get the extra point.
