1. Poo
2. Danny G
3. Zucc / Brass

The Brassard line continues to roll. Very impressed with their chemistry.

Nash was brutal. Took dumb penalties. Not much of a compete level from him. And Callahan had a very tough game. Blown coverage on the game tying goal was bad. Richards wasn't much better, but I'll give him the pass for scoring a huge goal in the shootout to get us the extra point. That line really needs to be broken up though.

Great defensive effort all night. Entire top-4 played rock solid hockey.

That game really reminded me why I hate the Pens.

And lastly, it really sickens me to see the Rangers stoop to their level. The flop by Brassard was terrible. I can't root for that ****. If I wanted to watch soccer I'd watch soccer.

You know what, individual players I'd like to see moved (out, up or down) aside, we beat the Ice Chickens in their own barn.

That is enough for tonight. (Even though they got the loser point.)

More I watch Kevin Klein more I think that trade was not that good. His skating is much worse than Del Zotto's.
And people talked about insurance if Girardi leaves. Havent seen even a little potential to that. Sign G faster and let Cally walk or go via trade.

Stralman did basically the same thing fifteen seconds earlier.

Hacking a guy at the end of the game in a dangerous situation is a smart play and at least from a small set of Rangers games, it looks like it's being coached into guys more and more.

There is a difference between tripping a guy with fifteen seconds left who is trying to get a shot off, and hacking a guy at center ice with two seconds left. One is a hockey play, the other is being a female dog

Zuke getting under Pens skin, they pushed him around but didn't knock him off his great game.

Carcillo disappoints me, guess he's doing alright on the 4th line, but his well known grit is gone for some reason.

Nash tonight...:shakehead

No...Just no

A couple of notes:

1) We scored 2 PP goals on the league's best PK going into this game

2) We got 40 shots AGAIN. We're 3rd in the league in shots on goal. Seems like we get at least on a nightly basis now and usually mid to high 30s with some 40s. We're a very solid puck possession team and I remember people here swearing that we can't play this style.

3) This is Pittsburgh's first loss in the shootout since the 11-12 season. I believe those were the first 2 shootout goals to beat Fleury all season.

Huge win for this team going into the break, especially after last night. Also, for such a talented player, Malkin still does a lot of immature things. He's incredibly dirty for a guy of his skill level and not many people seem to care. If a player like Matt Cooke or Dan Carcillo trips up Callahan at the end of the game, I'd expect the main board to crucify them.

I agree. IMO he's a dirty player. I know a lot of people don't like Crosby but Crosby is not nearly as cheap as Malkin is.

Might as well say--for all the Rangers posters here *****ing about Thornton's attack on Orpik earlier this season--we had a really high head shot by Orpik on Carcillo in the 2nd and later on a knee on knee hit by Orpik on Nash or at least an attempt at one. He's a dirty player as well IMO.

Don't forget that knee on knee on Stepan in 2012.

Pouliot
Girardi
McDonagh
Zuc/Brassard

Thought it was Poo,Girardi,Zuc but wanted to get McD a vote. His play against the other teams big guys and girls (Cindy) once again deserves some recognition.
Nash again saving some of that energy for the Olympics.

I haven't forgotten it at all. That post was just about tonight's game. Brooks Orpik has been doing this for years. He took out Loui Eriksson just back from a concussion with a high hit that Eriksson never saw coming and didn't expect because puck though heading towards him one moment never really got near him. And then he turns down Thornton which is why Shawn was so incensed. He makes these crap hits and then avoids the payback. It angers players. Want to play on the edge?..then be willing to face some music for it.

Brooks Orpik is as dirty as they come. Hate that guy. Makes me a little upset I have to root for him next week in Sochi. Wish Erik Johnson took his place.

I almost lost it when he was complaining about the penalty on Brassard. S***sburg was just on a PP. Just before that PP he got away with an interference and a holding penalty on Zuc behind the net. He also took a swing at Zuc and missed. There is a thing called Karma. Never want to see a player get hurt, but I wouldn't loose any sleep he he were.

I just ask one thing from Rich Nash. Please let the team know when you want a night off so we can put you on the 4th line.

BTW, can we drop this whole "the Avs were on the second night of back to backs"? We just won on a back to back and 3 in 4 nights in the house of one the best teams in the NHL.

Step should be ashamed for letting Zucc be the one to go after Kunitz.

Kreider needs to gain some more confidence with the puck.

Zucc is just awesome.

Klein is just okay. Makes you realize just how good Mac, Staal, Girardi and Stral have been.

Didn't love the Malkin goal, but solid game by Hank.

McDonagh and Staal are at a whole other level now from the rest of our defense.

Missed the game but boy is it always sweet to beat those clowns in their own house.

First shootout loss for the Pens in two years, jeez.
