Post-Game Talk: Rangers at Islanders 4/13/13

Horrible game all around. Just pathetic. Islanders weren't great either so we got very lucky.

Unbelievable how uninspired this team manages to play sometimes, in a huge game nonetheless.

PoTG: Hank

Good: Boyle, Stralman. I thought Girardi was average but we scored so I'll throw him up here.

Bad: Callahan is either hurt or is having personal problems, because the guy is flat out sucking. Brassard had a terrible game aside from his beautiful pass.

Richards: The man himself. Thanks for showing up for such a big game. Hell, thanks for showing up this season.

Yeah, I agree with this. Something is wrong, talk about uninspired play..

I wish they didn't get outchanced so badly toward the end of the third, but they won playing to their strengths against a team that was on a serious roll. Also, a win is a win at this point in the year. Two points are huge. Could have been better, definitely could have been worse.

Just mad that we've seen JT's stick broken like that probably 15-20 times this year without a single call. It's absolutely the right call, just maddening watching NHL officiating "work."

I don't know about the Islanders board. Just referring to some friends of mine who are Islander fans complaining about it and using it as an excuse for the loss. I mean obv the Islanders outplayed us for most of the game and Lundqvist was great but it seems people never include that Lundqvist is a part of the team..and his play is part of our game. So if a team outplays us in terms of puck possession that doesn't mean they "outplay" us overall.

someone had a bowl of sour milk with floating possums in it.

 Of I forgot, we won, so it's candy and rainbows.

I don't judge the team based on the results.

The 2nd Pittsburgh game when we lost I was very happy, because they played well. Today we were disgraceful, I'm happy we won, but it was a horrible game.

Cally isn't hurt, but my god is he frustrated. He was hitting more this game, and was great on the PK again, but in every zone, he COULD NOT get to the puck. It was always an extra foot out of reach, or 2 players between him and it. Some of it is bad luck, I think most of it is him "fighting it". A few good bounces, a bit of confidence, Cally will be fine.

Brass, I don't know. Until his pretty pass, completely unable to make a difference. Then again, this was a tough game for anyone to look good in.

Clowe-Richards-Boyle was terrible. I'm expecting more out of Richie and Clowe.

This exactly.

We're not 'haters', we are just assessing the team like we see it.

I was stuck between the whistling fool with the potvin jersey and the clown who showed up in a pens one.

And if I hear "Johnny" one more time I may vomit.

My favorite guy is a guy at MSG, actually. He has season tickets and comes to the game with whatever jersey the Rangers are playing against on.

On another note how about this clown capuano? Always complaining about how his team deserves more powerplays huh

I hope he's hurt, because his play has been worrisome.

Brassard until this game has been good in my opinion, better then Clowe, but tonight he got caught doing his trademark move of holding onto the puck for too long. He did it in Columbus all the time.

Clowe-Richards-Boyle were bad, but Boyle had himself another good game. When he's playing like a grinder he does a lot better. He made some great defensive plays as well. Any line with Richards on it is going to fail.

The Islanders have gelled into a solid team, though, so if it's a hard fought OT win - so be it.

From the pre-game thread. :D

This WAS a hard fought game. I'm proud of the boys. Huge win.

Man that puck had Girardi's son's Christmas list on it and he effin sent dat shiat to Santa in the North Pole early.

What a shot.

Boyle played great, he had a couple of rushes that were "this is why I went first round..."
