Im surprised Vegas added a 4th. Howden's a good guy and will make a fine AHL captain someday like a Kris Newbury. Other than that I'm glad he won't be available for Gellant to use.

Wouldn't surprise me he puts some numbers for knights playing full time.
WTF are you talking about? He played 180 games the past three seasons at almost 14 minutes per night. How much more "full time" do you think he'll be in Vegas? 18 minutes on the first line? Come on. I get the idea that maybe he excels in a new environment, that maybe there's still something there that's untapped. But the guy was given EVERY opportunity to succeed here. Even when he was clearly playing terrible hockey we'd still send him out there for 10+ minutes every night.

Up until last season I had some hope for Howden but this past year kind of sealed it for me. Anyhow I hope I’m wrong, for his sake. Best of luck to him.

Howden sucked no doubt and I think the Rangers largely mismanaged him (he wasn’t close to ready when they jammed him into the lineup and never sat him) but he was highly touted. Universally expected to become a hard to play against 3C. Something we still sorely lack.

It’s important to remember when assessing the McD trade, though it’s not something most are interested in doing.

i can see howden becoming a legit bottom line player who’s real solid in about 4 seasons. no big loss. he can have his growing pains somewhere else.
