Omg we added a player that had 92 points last year. f*** f*** f*** the sky is falling. Lol this is dumb

Idk what is more fun? Seeing people have a meltdown on Twitter because now they won’t root for the rangers because of Kane? (Who was never convicted of anything btw)

I mean get lost you f***ing losers
I can turn around tomorrow and accuse Connor McDavid of anything and those buffoons on Twitter would attempt to cancel him and say they wouldn't want him on the Rangers because of it.

Even though he was never convicted of it and I just made it up in my dream last night.

The facts are: The womans own lawyers dropped her as a client for fabricating evidence attempting to get a conviction. Chances are if you have to FABRICATE evidence, it MIGHT (PROBABLY) didn't happen. Even if you don't like that assumption, he was never convicted, and EVERYONE is innocent until proven guilty as a human right.

I can't stand those people on Twitter. Exhasutingly horrible and intolerable.

Those of us who, like me, were traumatized by a decade of complete irrelevancy resulting from moves exactly like this one are the ones shaking fists at the sky.

Traumatized is Jovo seeing his favorite player to ever play traded for a $5 Tim Horton’s gift card

C’mon man I didn’t even react this way when we traded Krav LMAO
Lol ok you beat me to it

I know there were circumstances but still. This is LOL

Lemongrass roast pork banh mi
You know what, sometimes you gotta just go with the flow. We got Patrick f***ing Kane. Cant tell me you're not excited to see what he can do.

Beyond that, look at the cost for every other rental this year. Rangers got the best deals of them all from what I can tell.

I love how trading a player to a team, who then retains salary and trades the player back is not cap circumvention, but a situation like this isnt. Like, it clearly is. The rules around the cap are such a joke.

It's amazing really.

The rangers have never made moves like this…we literally paid next to nothing stop it
Seriously. Even if we don’t win the cup, it’s not like we destroyed our future. We still have all our top guys both on the team and prospects. It would be disappointing but not something like 1997 where we couldn’t recover

The conditions really aren't bad, and it might just be as simple as Drury wanting to keep a bit of good will should we find ourselves in a position where we'd like to trade with Chicago again and their player has more options/offers
100%. This isn’t a video game, these guys are colleagues. They’re not trying to shank each other.
Not to mention, as we know, management considers a first round pick currency, not a sacred artifact.

You guys overrate 1st's tbh.

Like, it's a numbers game and I get that giving them away repeatedly is not sustainable but my immediate thought is "oh no, we won't have another Nils Lundkvist, the humanity."

This was a rare opportunity to get a player for peanuts.

It's like when we signed Panarin and people said "it doesn't fit the rebuild." No. When a player of that caliber makes it to UFA, you drop everything.
The comments from Brisebois about the Jeannot price tell you all you need to know about how GMs of contending teams value 1st round picks. Yes, the price he paid was exorbitant but I’m inclined to agree with his logic. In our case…

Kane undoubtedly helps the team today and increases the odds of winning the Cup, on paper. Player X drafted late in the first round in 2024 or 2025 will not help this team for a number of years, if ever.

Doesn’t mean those picks don’t hold value. It means that the value the player you’re acquiring today is worth significantly more to your organization right now. And that’s the priority of contending teams.
