Fast forward to about 3:14 and the "Me Monster" is like all the guys coming in here with analytics.

Analytics monsters: "Expected goals against means the Rangers should have lost, relative Corsi numbers are not in our favor, defense is getting caved in, rah rah advanced metrics, rah rah win probability, Igor gave up 3 (pounding chest hard), kids only 12:00 TOI, rah rah xGF, Rangers getting caved in...."

Rangers: "We won 7-3."

A rough couple days for those who think they should be the coach, but they're persistent twits.
Not really. The people who think they should coach did not want people like Hunt or Vesey in the top 6 and have been begging for Kakko and Laf to get a chance in the top 6. We all feel pretty confident now that we are the smartest people alive.

Rough couple of days for those who think we made good line decisions last year!

All 3 of Kakko, Lafreniere, and Chytil look much better this season. Seems that Gallant didn't hurt their development, while taking the team to the Semis.

Some folks truly believe that their experience sitting on their couch makes them better coaches than folks who do it for a living.

Hey, if you think you'd be a better coach, you made a big mistake not pursuing that career.

You let all of us here down. If you had been coaching, we'd have won the Cup last season.

No coach makes all the right decisions, just like the rest of us don't make all the right decisions in our lives, but fans who tell us all the time how things would be much better if they were the decision makers are pretty clueless.

It isn't everyday that you can talk about a 7-3 game and say it wasn't as close as the score indicated. At no time was this game in doubt after the Min 5 on 3 got killed.
The game was pretty evenly matched for the first 2 periods. The difference was the goalies. Igor played like Igor and Fleury looks cooked

I’m not sure I have ever felt more excited about a Ranger team in over 30 years of watching this team! The young guys seemed to have taken that leap the organization was counting on, the toughness, the skill, the speed— I mean it’s literally textbook hockey right now. That game was a clinic and should be recorded and used for a “this is how hockey is played” textbook. I’m not even sure I’m being overreactive. I genuinely feel this game was that good.

If this team stays healthy we might be in for something exceptionally good!

This is the most talented team since the Cup win. No doubt maybe more because of how good shesterkin is. He’s light years better than richter was. But I mean to me this has to be the year. They will have way to hard a time keeping this group together if laf and kakko take this next step which they seem poised to do. The top guys are all around 30. This is the best shot imo. This year.

By the way last night is what opening night would have looked like if Tampa didn’t have vasilevskiy. We should have had 6 or 7 in that game too.

I actually think Blais Chytil Goodrow would be my ideal third line at this point.

True they say it's hard to be a Ranger - you post up a 1+3 on a tough away night (and generally "play posessed")... aaaaand it's a honorable mention for you!))
Really tough. One of the best games I've seen him play. His incredible talent was on full display. I get people voting for Kakko because of that goal and Reavo for the fight but breadman wasn't one of the stars , he was the first star, end of story.

What's funny is leading up to our cup in 94, I was furious at a lot of the trades that were made. We traded away some seriously amazing players that I really loved, so I reaaaaaaally get this sentiment. It's so great to see patience begin to pay off, rather than trading for old players.

The kids are better because they are a) older and b) on lines they should be on. GG is good at many things. Seems like a very strong locker room. You want to give him credit for kid development? Spare me. His treatment of the kids last year was his main weakness. Kakko was benched THREE GAMES AGO for Hunt and or an injured Strome.

GG these 2 games has been great. Realizing it should be Laf to move up to line 2 was the right move and it showed. Let's hope he continues it. But let's not pretend a one overall and two overall are playing well because of his brilliant mind. They deserve the credit.

I feel Kakko deserves a vote for his fearlessness.
If McDavid or Matthews makes that play, its deemed "what else is new". Kaapo doing that just PROVES a little bit ion what he "could do". Generated from confidence........right? Was astounding imo, an absolute "power forward" move in every sense of the term.
