It's a sly move, really. Gallant rolls out PP2 with time winding down but it becomes the Kid Line at even strength for almost a full shift after the PP.
I think he did it for a shift after a PK too in the opener. Gallant is figuring out how to get them minutes.

Hot take- Giannone, Hank & Vally are one of the cringiest trio's in sports
This might be one of the “dumbest” or “most ridiculous” takes in media critique history.

You do realize no other NHL team has this level of expertise and investment in post-game analysis?

Or maybe it’s easier for you to give examples tonite where you cringed. What did this crew of experienced hockey reps say that bunched your panties?

Target something else for your cringe-worthy critique.

Have you ever watched any other hockey intermission ? They are laughable boring and uncultured. Vally and Hank at least have fun, John is kinds awkward though in a stats nerd kind of way.
I agree. They’re better than most. But the Devils intermission report with Salvadore is pretty good.

We lost the according to analytics. So, does it really matter?
I know you’re joking. But usually when a team takes a big fat lead the analytics favor the team trying to come back. I believe.

I’m not sure I have ever felt more excited about a Ranger team in over 30 years of watching this team! The young guys seemed to have taken that leap the organization was counting on, the toughness, the skill, the speed— I mean it’s literally textbook hockey right now. That game was a clinic and should be recorded and used for a “this is how hockey is played” textbook. I’m not even sure I’m being overreactive. I genuinely feel this game was that good.

If this team stays healthy we might be in for something exceptionally good!

The boys look like a team that's pissed off how last season ended, maybe learned some lessons, and decided they were gonna come out of the gate and just f*** some shit up.
Definitely agree.

Panarin especially looks determined to show he is still Artemi f***ing Panarin.

Also nice to see Zib picking up in mid season form this year right in game 1.

Everyone else looks like they’re on the same page here. But those two and Shesty are leading the way.

Despite the defensive breakdown on the second Boldy goal I've been pretty damn impressed with Jones' defensive play and overall composure. Heck, I think he's been more steady than Schneider even though the duo have both looked good considering the assignments they've been tasked with early on. For a guy who's primarily known for his offense I don't really see any glaring gaps in his defensive game. I'm still slightly worried about his size come playoff time but like Fox he excels in other ways that more than make up for it.

That game will bump the Wild up to #4 due to their NDxGf+A/IM dominance last night. Rangers, sadly, fall to Kraken tier because even though goalies aren't part of the team, Igor gave up 3 goals in the clearest sign of regression yet. Also, 7 goals a game is non-sustainable. They will need to score 7 or more over the next four seasons for it to factor positively. Until then, points docked.
(non-deterministic expected goals for plus against divided by inertial mass)
