Saw a Lamborghini Huracan yesterday, but in an awful yellow-green color. Not sure what they were thinking there.

Had my 2017 Chevy SS sedan fitted with a Magnuson 2300 supercharger this week. Went from 350 HP at the rear wheels to 500...486 lbs torque. The Dyno tune also smoothed out the transmission and the car drives like a cloud floating through the sky (a fast one). I can't wait to beat my chest after I blow a Prius off the road for the first time (or a bicycle rider, or old woman on a walker...).

That AWD? Did they tear in to it to open piston ring gap or is the boost low enough where it's OK? I live at high elevation so boost would help, no need to worry about air density when you bring your own.

Just RWD. No work in and around the pistons, just replaced the stock CAI, spark plugs, main belt, and a MAP sensor...added a catch can for the oil in the supercharger. Very much maintenance free, just need to change out the belt every couple years. I'm getting about 7 lbs of boost...central NC.

I live at 10k feet so UV rays aree pretty harsh on plastic /rubber car items like windshield wipers , they are a biannual maintenance minimum. Why is it the drivers side goes first , They get used the exact same amount but the passenger side is always good but I do both anyway.makes no f***ing sense.

without looking it up what would you people say a rear hub/bearing replacement would cost all told--how long do you think it would take a mechanic. Just had what i'd consider an outlandish answer from Audi that was disputed by a local indy (and some randos on reddit).

I'm gonna guess between 2.5 and 4 hrs depending on skill level

okay that's closer to Audi's books. Indy and reddit said 1-1 1/2 hours depending on if they had to press bearings.
so essentially Audi's job book had 5 hours labor, indy has 1 hour. $1700 vs $560. Haven't really come across any other job indy vs dealer with that much of a difference.

Indy sounds confident! 😅

Just got back from picking up lunch at work. While on route saw a pretty rare sight! This time of year, it's normal to see a lot of nice cars out there... Corvettes are as common as a Prius in fact... even see a Maserati from time to time, but today I saw Godzilla! The Nissan GT-R is about a once every couple year sight around here, so it grabbed my attention immediately! This looked like a 2020 GT-R... all black.

I happened to be driving my Shelby with the top down, when I came up next to him had to give him a thumbs up as I went by, he nodded and smiled. His lane was going slower, so he ended up moving in behind me, and when I pulled off to the exit lane, he accelerated to get next to me before I veered off, he pointed at my car saying "you too!" then gave a thumbs up in return. :)

It always makes me wonder what the owner did to get the US to allow the import. They aren't legal to sell in the US due to emissions, and I will say, riding behind it for a bit before moving over, I can understand why. You could smell it's exhaust and see the black dust coming out of the tailpipe. That doesn't stop me from admiring a legend of a car though.

They have to be at least 25 years old and you have to go through very complicated paperwork for the title and registration.

Definitely can't title it or register it in CA, no chance you'd get it approved. It's not easy and I wouldn't recommend importing a JDM car yourself, only consider cars that have already been imported and titled in the US.

We were thinking about getting a 1997/1998 Toyota Century a while back, because it's like getting an actually reliable Rolls Royce of the era for $30K USD tops.

Exactly, and this was not that... like I said, it looked like a 2020 model based on the body/wing combo. The 2020 wing stands out a bit more. Thus... how did he get the US to accept the import in this case? It clearly was not a late model car that has gotten the waiver that '98 model years have now.

Basically this exact look, except he had painted his calipers black as well...

No, it was not a NISMO though...just the same look as one.

So looking into it a bit more, it was likely imported as a "show or display" model, which limits it to only 2,500k miles per year on the road.

The "Show or Display" rule is a statutory amendment to the United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) that allows certain privately imported automobiles to be exempted, if the vehicle in question is deemed to meet a standard of "historical or technological significance".

Easy to show historical or technological significance for such a street legend.

The practice of importing JDM or European vehicles, sometimes Canadian (Canada got different motorcycles than the US) is called Grey market. My RD500 has 1 fewer VIN than a US VIN , I did have to take it to a sherif to verify it before registering it BUT someone had titled it. Some states are easier than others (Vermont is easy , NH no title needed if it's pre 1999.States also very with emissions. Colorado, Denver metro are checks emissions, where I live none , no inspection at all.that said its becoming harder to do in most states and impossible in others, Buy one now , I think the R34 is probably due to be imported, lots of R32 were cause of their age.
Weren't the GTRs available in the states?

For your viewing pleasure, my Grey market 1985 RD500 ,ultra rare and hens teeth in the US , 100% stock ,unrestored survivor with 6k miles.
A screen of one sold in Europe where they exist, in pounds. Don't let anyone tell you Japanese bikes don't hold value ,the 80s 90s sport bike market is bonkers especially the two strokes.

Interestingly, Canada has a 15-year JDM import rule as opposed to our 25-year.

If you got a Canadian title you could probably register it in Vermont, you don't even have to live in Vermont to register a car there.in fact all you need is a bill of sale in Vermont, it's how people get around buying without a title.

Not necessarily title related, but my CTO uses these guys to register his cars here in CO because taxes are stupid.

I guess last year they made all exhausts and tunes illegal in the metro area here, so my car failed hard. I had to return it fully to stock, take it for a state inspection, and then bring it home and put all the shit back on. It was pretty frustrating, and completely turned me off of tuning any future vehicles. Pretty sad I can't live where I want and have a real build again. Now that I have money I'm f***ed.

I am seriously considering jumping on this, but am a little nervous about what happens when i get pulled over. I guess it's totally legal though.

The R35 GT-Rs are sold in the US by Nissan. Have been since the R35 model was released in 2009.

You can but land in a small mountain town and have that as your address , register ,insure (so much cheaper) and F the DMV. If you hunt around you might find land between 5-10k .
