Random: I live in a mountain town , no flat roads anywhere. I went like 3 years with a bad starter in my Nissan before changing it. Has to be a record.
I just bump started it everywhere.

My 3-year old daughter has two Lamborghini Huracan toy cars, one yellow and one orange. She loves these toys and loves to race them against each other and make vroom vroom sounds.

Today, on I95 we saw a real Lamborghini Aventador in that very same orange. It stayed with us for a bit, downshifted two gears...and went to orbit. She was so, so excited and then said "We should get one of those, Mommy and Daddy!" and I know it's a stupid reaction but I felt sad. Like, I am in a really good economic position but not even close to one that could make that kind of dream a reality, and a part of me wants to make her happy at all costs even though it's not rational. But I'm not rational with her...I'm emotional.

I've rented a Lamborghini before. It's super expensive. I'm now going to do it again just to make her day. I'm a Italian car fanboy but it's not about making my day anymore...it's about something much more.

I did "shifter karts" one time but the license they gave us for the day was for a smaller machine, I topped out at 45mph. I say "Shifter karts" because they only looked the same. No clutch. We had 20ish guys, two races of 10 or so guys, and then a winners race of the top 10 times. I was in 2nd on the winners race and I had to pull out with 2 laps to go. I was insanely sick

They did have shift kart leagues at this place, and if you had enough guys (which we did!) and reserved a bigger track (which we didnt), I'm pretty sure they let you rent out the big boy karts. There was a curve in the back of the track that was banked insanely high. My brother (god rest his soul) broke in one time with his Jetta and took it around for a lap. He said it felt like he was being pulled up a wall at highway speeds

Sorry to hear about your aunt. :(
And she's gone :(

I didn't really update this topic, but she gave up on the chemo and radiation and just wanted to go home. 2 weeks later she was back in hospital. Basically in a coma, the doctor said he's gonna take her feeding tube out and just let her pass.

Sad part is we couldn't visit cause the hospital had a covid outbreak. No funeral as per her wishes.

RIP Aunt Jo 😘

Weather is still good, even looking through the extended forecast, but how long can the weather really be trusted? I've scheduled the season ending oil change and detail for the second week of Nov. for the Shelby.

Just a couple weeks left to drive it for me this season. :(

You’re lucky. Went to take the Chevelle out last weekend, pops left the keys in the ignition in the accessory position. Destroyed the battery again. Attempted to jump it for a half hour but could only get headlights and the dome light. Went and bought a jump box, charged it quick and slapped it onto the Malibu…and it cranked but wouldn’t turn over. I’ll try again this weekend

Also found a good amount of mouse shit sitting on the intake manifold, and the speedo cable is weeping fluid at the bullet of the trans

I remain hopeful that i will be able to rip her down the road a couple more times before the long winters nap. Once the roads get salted it’s game over until a few spring washouts

I drove into work this afternoon and home at 1am late in the night... yet was able to do so with the top down each way... in the first week of November! This is nuts! Was 75f going into work, 69f coming home!

Likely the last top down drive of the year. Thunderstorms expected tomorrow night, which means the Shelby stays home, then the Temps start dropping. Highs in the 40s f this weekend.

44 for a high Friday, again on Saturday as well along with rain. Then 50 and partly cloudy Sunday and Monday... Shelby goes to bed Monday. Then rain Tues-Thurs highs 60, 60 and 47... then 39 and SNOW Friday!

Looks like I timed it well...

Pops came back from the corner store today and said he heard a weird noise in the front driver side wheel area. Before i left the house i checked it out, tire was flat. So i grab the spare out the back, break my back in the process cuz the full size spare in the back of a grand Marquis is a bitch to get out. Get it on the ground and realize the spare is dry rotted. So i grab the air compressor and fill the tire, thinking he can limp the car down the road to his friends house where he was heading, and worst case scenario he gets a ride home later

He leaves, and i decide to watch him back out. Not sure why but a voice in my head said please stay and make sure he’s ok. His front tire is just hanging on by a thread. He had to have snapped a tie rod, control arm, or both. It was bad. He’s oblivious so i run out and tell him to just leave the car in the driveway, and I’ll drive him to his friends house. “You sure i can’t make it?”

No dad. You’re not going anywhere.

The tire was just about horizontal as he coasted to the corner of the yard.

Man that sucks. Did he curb it or something?

Not that we are aware of. I was with him the night before and we were out for about an hour. I heard a clunk but brushed it off thinking it was just his wheelchair in the trunk bouncing around. I’m wondering if it was a tie rod cracking. I just can’t see how we could have driven as far as we did with that much damage.

New tires n rims today for the Rav4. Michelin X-ice and the rims are made by Toyota with some fancy coating/finish on them, so they won't rust. They actually look kinda decent...5 spoke, so not the traditional steelie style. Also went down to 16" from 18" for more rubber.

It just got cold yesterday and even snowed a bit, so perfect timing

Wow after seeing all that snow in Buffallo and NY I'm seriously debating getting a winch. I know my truck does well in snow but dunno if it could handle that much. I've always wanted one for offroading but hated the idea of modding the bumper or doing bar work.

I say this cause I'm in Toronto area just a a few hours away. We seriously got lucky to dodge that system

Upstate NY native here, you guys are on the other side of the prevailing lake winds. In general, you get the cold, we get the snow.
