After all this drama of him declaring he’s going to UFA, I just don’t think Geno’s coming back and announcing the Rakell signing seems like an attempt to placate the fans…why announce so quickly after the Geno news…clear it’s been done for a little bit

I think this contract is best described as "fair". This is what Rakell would have gotten in UFA, this wasn't a discount like Rust and Letang gave the team.
