Cubs have an 8 game lead on SF in the wildcard race now, i think its safe to say Chicago will be the Pirates opponent in the wildcard game.

The rest of the season will determine where the game is being played.

Yeah, Park appears to be more of a depth option than a guy you have to put in your line-up every day...but hey, he's worth looking at.

Someone will overpay for some over-hyped player eventually and the market will correct itself, that's how it always goes. Hideki Irabu, I'm looking at you. Park won't be that guy, he's a 29 year-old first baseman.

I really don't think this is safe to say just yet. I know you've been holding this position for quite some time and that I've waffled about it, but 4.5 games with a series left is still a surmountable gap in the division. I don't think it's extremely likely given our current tenuous pitching situation, but I don't think the WC game is a foregone conclusion right now.
