Rowdy has had a rough start but if he hits righties I'll be happy enough.

And I am once again asking that MLB implements robot umps. If the bad calls were consistent it would be whatever but the Marlins pitchers have had a 1990's strike zone all series. Do these guys have f***ing fanduel accounts or something?

Interesting aggression by Shelton here with the bullpen. I think with how Ortiz has looked, I might have tried to stick with him at least once through the order, but with a one run lead, it's hard to argue with trying to get it to a traditional bullpen approach. Presumably it also saves Ortiz for usage in the next few days.

I am increasingly pro-Ortiz in the bullpen longer term, as bad as Falter has looked. I think I am ok with this, you gotta strike when the iron is hot and take advantage of the situation. Maybe if the lead was bigger, or the bullpen was extremely taxed, but no reason to overthink it.

Well yeah, he can't hit lefties. He's a platoon guy just like Suwinski is. It's hard for me to get mad about him striking out against lefties when he shouldn't be playing against lefties in the first place.

Shelton is an idiot and puts players in bad positions, but a good manager would only have Joe and Taylor/Olivares against lefties and Tellez and Suwinski against righties.

Taylor is absolutely not going to continue hitting like this, but he may have to be the everyday CF if he keeps playing well. His defense and speed is obvious, but he's also hitting really well to start the year.

Ouch, I imagine Triolo might need a day off tomorrow after that shot.

I thought Triolo wasn't having a good start to the year, only for me to realize he's actually hitting basically .300 with an OPS over .750.

Bednar left a 92 MPH splitter basically middle-middle, that is going to be crushed by basically any hitter.

Damn, just need to hope they can pull this off in extras.

Yeah not great, I didn't want to jinx him but I was going to say that I haven't yet confronted how little faith I have in Bednar. Hopefully just a blip.

We have as much of an advantage in extra innings as a road team can have, IMO, if we can get it there. The Marlins pitching staff is roadkill right now, but we will need to convert right away.

Nice to at least be on the other side of Arraez, but this feels like a Jake Burger walk off HR. Really blown opportunity, Gordon is not good.

Taylor has awful plate discipline, so to see him walk in that situation is awesome to see. It's not the sexy outcome but it's the one they needed.

Suwinski just got hosed on a strike 3 call but I wasn't really expecting him to get a hit against a lefty to begin with.

The team is about to go 4-0, so that poster needs to make up stuff to complain about.

Joe is hitting over .300 this year with 3 RBIs in 4 games, yet he's somehow a problem.

I know. Couldn't avoid the bait. They been talking nothing but shit about the pirates for a long time.

I mean, joe hasn't really been objectively bad. He's useful. Could be upgraded? Sure. But take it easy throwing your hands up on him for the whole PIT career.

Stratton digging deep here in extras

I'm real pleased with the level of compete with the team

Made a lot of mistakes, but no give up

All up and down the lineup everyone has played hard every inning

Very positive to see that teamwork

Might lose every other game but they earned these four wins

@Empoleon8771 we had the feeling that this roster would get hits in. The pitching and bullpen absolutely came in clutch in ways we weren't expecting. See if it keeps up.
