What worries me is these guys will all cut deeply into the playing time of the rookies who have showed well (Suwinski, Mitchell, Marcano). I really, really don't want Gamel playing over either of the first 2 guys as much as I admire Gamel for his gritty play.

I honestly don't see how the roster works unless you send down the young guns who were very prominent in the recent positive stretch.

Shelton cannot be trusted to play the deserving players. Still nowhere near sold on him as a manager.

This is yet another loss incoming. This team is odd. Cannot beat shitty teams but play up against the elite.

Reynolds has been a massive disappointment. Keller either has no control or hits the middle of the plate every start.

I don't have time to waste on these mail them in efforts at the dish.

Keller has slightly settled in, but Shelton needs the lightning quick hook. He just needs to be treated like a back of the rotation starter from now on, so manage the game accordingly depending on where he is in the lineup. Unless it's a crooked number score, there's really no reason he should ever see the lineup a third time.

Offense has been pretty terrible against a guy with mediocre stuff. It's really hard to say anything positive about Reynolds right now. Pretty close to the point where his 2023 salary is a great coup for him, though I guess it's also pretty rare for a guy to get a pay cut in arbitration.

Suwinski should be starting every day (sans occasional day off). I do not want to see him losing time to Gamel or any other player. Still early on Mitchell, though he's looked solid w/the bat certainly but I give Suwinski the edge.

The last 2 innings from Keller were a lot better.

I didn't think we should mess with Keller and the third time through the order, but maybe mixing a bunch of two seamers with an occasional four seamer allows the slider and curve to play.

Vogelbach should be sat against lefties if he won't even try in his at-bats against them.

Sets a terrible example to the team. Fat boy.

Bad Call IMO. The angles we see make it look like at least some of the glove was under the ball.

We deserve to lose though, with this offensive performance. Especially Hayes & Reynolds sucking during their opportunity in the 4th.

This loss is on Hayes & Reynolds. Hayes has been good this year holistically. Reynolds' raw numbers look down but the situational stuff is mind-boggling. 3/43 with RISP! Incredibly bad.

Last tough road trip they overperformed. Hopefully they do again. Honestly, I'd consider it a good trip if they went 4-4

Burrows threw 1 hit ball through 5 in Reading today. 9 K's. Did walk 3 batters but really great news after his shit outing last week. Gotta think it won't be too long until he's up in AAA.

I saw most of it -- he was terrific, and the Reading announcer was also reporting on the radar gun a bit. The FB was up around 96-97, touching 98, and overall he was just very difficult to touch. He did have the control wane in and out, but it's not really like he's a wild pitcher. He's somewhat similar to Contreras to my eye, in that sometimes the stuff just seems to be overpowering, so he loses the handle on it at times, but it's not really a situation where he's constantly missing his spots.
