Why does this shit continue to happen? Injury doesn't heal, guy goes out and plays anyway, aggravates it, out again. Where is the doc/surgeon that is the buffer between the player wanting to fight through it and sitting his ass until it's 100%???

He needs to revamp his swing. Basically everything else about his offensive game is what you want, in terms of swing decisions, exit velocity, general poise, etc., but his launch angle is even worse this year than it was last year.

I think Suwinski and Castillo might combine for like 50 HRs and I wonder how many non-HR hits they'll have.

The over the top Hayes fans sphincters are pretty tight right about now. He's a minor league hitter the way he's going. Love your D, Key, but the bat is 7 hole, at best.

I think he needs to strike out more, so he doesn't reduce his average exit velo which is the true test of a hitter.

Delay doesn't seem to add much offensively at all, but he stands out defensively in the few times I've seen him.

Really weird start for Brubaker -- he was awful for the most part, but at least still managed to keep the game somewhat close and ate five innings. I'll take it, he has to be better, but that's a step forward from when he looked like a reliever last year.

Cruz struggling mightily.

Why this would surprise anybody is beyond me.

Dude has a track record of terrible stretches in the minors and in like, the Dominican Winter Leagues. Guys who come up and immediately impact the game without DOMINATING the minors are the exception and not the rule.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the defense at short but offensively this is what I was expecting. Still could be a very impactful player from 2024-2030 though. Maybe even next year.

Disappointing that the draft next weekend might exhaust the things to look forward to until the trade deadline, and even then I am not expecting much. Really tough sledding lately and tonight was an ugly loss. Even with Hayes struggling a ton, Hader was wild and Newman was out by a ridiculous amount.

It's also frustrating that the top prospects are suffering these repeated injuries. At least there's Chandler's debut to look forward to -- haven't tuned into a Bradenton game all year, so I wonder how the quality of their broadcast is this year. My memory is that the video leaves a lot to be desired, but the announcer was solid and I think is pretty active on twitter.

I think I'm comfortable in saying that if Shelton and his staff make it through the winter, I am off the BC wagon. I get there isn't any real internal option for a mid season firing but I think we're seeing talent wasted, again.

Fair enough, but they are facing Woodruff.
You'd never expect this time to win this game, given how overmatched they are against quality pitching.

Yoshi can GTFOH also.

Has nothing to do with this game. It's performance based. It's everything I've harped on in recent times. I don't think he commands respect and there hasn't been anything that makes me believe he'd get results even with a much more talented roster around him.

He took the wheel at a time when nobody really wants to and would be getting thrown to unemployment line just when actual talent is arriving/getting close, but we need to invest some more money in coaching. That much is beyond evident.

IMO our hitters go up there afraid when facing quality pitching.

And as you know, our lefty batters are embarrassing against lefty arms. Which is problem because seemingly every batter is a lefty now.

So to the extent that is on Shelton, Haines, the whole player development system...the buck stops with Cherington to your point.

I think Marin and the pitching staff have had a better year. Outside the outlier blowouts I think the pitching has met or exceeded expectations.
