Wooowwee, look at this amazing assist on Monday. Dekes through the guy, and the stick on the ice, while taking a high stick, then completely fools the goalie by passing it back with the eyes in the back of his head..
This…. In no way am I trading GP after the miracle of him falling to us and Drury picking him.Gabe should absolutely, 100%, be UNTOUCHABLE. Kid is going to be a superstar and really our only projected 1st line player in our system.
We already got a big piece with the Miller trade. Trade lower prospects for a top 4 dman. Get rid of Kreider/Smith/Lindrgren to obtain picks or younger players.
Gabe, Othmann, Fortescue, Laf, Berard, Sykora, Schneider, Fox, Cuylle should all be part of the next core going for a cup in 3-5 years. JT Miller will still be here to lead with Trocheck, and obviously Igor.

can't teach what he's got
Yeah, this I can agree with. He could definitely use more explosiveness in his skating. He needs that separation because, even though he's game, he's never going to bully guys in the NHL.It has improved. I wouldn't say it "greatly improved". He still has to work on his first step. Enough time to do that though. And yes, his hockey IQ is through the roof.
He's a forward version of Adam Fox. If he plays with the right linemates, you can limit the risk. And as long as he figures out a way to leverage his strengths on a daily basis, we're in for a treat.
But when I see people penciling him in for opening night 2025, I can't help but think that that is unlikely. That's all.

Gabe got straight up assaulted like 4 times during that play too.No hyperbole - this is up there amongst the filthiest goals I have ever seen. Holy shit.
Peter Forsberg like. Just kept going and made a pass that has everyone watching going "how the f*** did he see that?"No hyperbole - this is up there amongst the filthiest goals I have ever seen. Holy shit.

That's not a talent you trade for anything except for a locked up McDavid, Heiskanen, Dahlin, Draisaitl, Mackinnon type of player.
It's not all about size. Brad Marchand plays plenty big at 5'9" 180. He's the exception, not the rule but just saying GP can improve. He'll need to learn to protect the puck vs NHL size and NHL speed. Can't teach the IQ. It's like he sees everything on the ice in slow mo so acting vs speed should not be the hardest part.Gabe is not particularly small and he is certainly not slow.
BC has him listed at 5’11” and 178pounds. When he’s done growing and filling out he will likely be 6foot 190-195 pounds. Maybe more.

The Rangers sure can try to teach it out of him though!can't teach what he's got
I myself grew 2 inches between 18 and 22, but sure it’s the outlier. It’s extremely rare for a 19+ year old male to grow in height. 90%+ are done growing by 18.

I'm 5'10". Internet dating is a nightmare. LOL!Does going from 5'11 to 6'0 give him any advantage at all? This isn't Tinder.
