Speculation: Quinn Hughes wants to contend

So I heard a rumour that if Pettersson, Miller, Boeser, Demko and the rest of the Canucks core are traded then Quinn will want a trade from the Canucks.

I mean if they do trade Hughes they're going to be the worst team in the league and unless they trade him Garland is likely going to take over as 16th captain in their franchise's history, that or Tyler Myers anyway. But I think a star leaving their team is usually a bad sign unless they understand that in order to win they need to want to because quitting is almost like losing.

But if Quinn gets traded I only see him going to New Jersey. It's what the NHL wants really.

All I gotta say is everything looked so good last year and this year, demko is damaged goods, JT miller is on his way out for a quantity over quality package, Petey is a 11.6 million dollar 65 pt center, and boeser likely wants more then the Canucks want to give to a one dimensional complimentary winger who will likely walk to ufa. If I’m Quinn Hughes, I couldn’t get outta this mess fast enough

Hes ufa after next season. If he forces his way out of town and makes it clear he's only reupping with one team, the return for Vancouver will be seriously downgraded. (I'm not saying that's going to be the case, but it's within the realm of possibilities)
