Quebec Nordiques Jersey Concepts -- More updates added!

The dark blue makes the design too similar to current day Sabres. The flag is nice starting point but would prefer lighter blue to get more unique look.

Overall I am disappointed that teams are so cautious of using bold colours. SJ's teal is among the best choices made by an expansion team as it gave them distinguish look, strengthening their brand as one can use the color throughout gear, memoraphilia and everything else to make an item that on first glance telks to which team it belongs.

The colors are just too common now. The home and away look like Buffalo or St. Louis and the alternate looks like Nashville. The light blue was much better.

But the Jets selected a worse logo and color scheme, so I imagine if the Nordiques get another shot, they will do the same thing.

This is easily one of the best jersey concepts I have seen. Fantastic work blending the old with new. It strikes a good balance of incorporating old elements into a new color palette with subtle new elements as well. Good job.

Like others though, I really liked the old colors and would like to see concepts that still use them.

Better name than the 'Nordiques' (Which is french for 'Nordics', or 'Scandinavians').

''nordique'' can mean different things, I always interpreted the hockey club name to mean ''from the North'' (as in Canada's north) or ''from the cold'' (nordic weather).

Even though english people usually refers ''nordics'' to Scandinavians/Vikings, I highly doubt that's what the Québec City hockey club was going for.

In french, we mostly use the word ''nordique'' to describe very cold weather condition: ''une région nordique''

Thanks for all the feedback! I tried to adapt some of it and added two updated concepts to the original post.

I got rid of the fleurs de lis and in update #2, I also got rid of the old logo. Just like the Jets, the Nordiques would then have a completely new look, while keeping their old name.
In update #1, I simply changed the color scheme to something closer to what it used to be.

Feedback is of course still much appreciated!

I like the 1st new one but the colour palette hurts my eyes to be honest.

I really like the 2nd extra design but your QC logo outline isn't obvious enough. Really dig the ship though.

I get the feeling Quebec fans won't be satisfied unless the new team is called the Nordiques and they have the exact same look as they did in 1995, which for the latter probably won't happen.

You could try outlining the ship logo with just the letter Q instead of QR. It would be easier to see it. Maybe rounder too. I think you might be on to something like that guy in the other thread with the snow owl.

The home and away look ridiculously good, not a fan of the alternate because of too much gold but wow does the 2 others look great. Better than many jerseys in the NHL right now for me.

I should let your know that on all the jerseys the fleurs de lis on the shoulders are upside-down.

Ladies and gentlemen, Minnesota Timberwolves HC. (Seriously, if the US did what several European countries did, and regularly had teams in multiple sports share names, this would be the perfect kit for Minny.)

As to OP, I like the jerseys in a vacuum, but the Nordiques ought to wear what they wore. There's a ton of history there, tons of brand equity in the look, and unlike Winnipeg, the owners actually want to reclaim the old history. If TNSE had their way, the league would probably have welcomed the Manitoba Moose instead of Jets 2.0.

Now, that said, your home jersey using the old Nords logo (and, maybe, the ship as a shoulder patch instead of the extra fleurs de lis) would make a spectacular third for them. I'd totally buy it, and I'm not a Nords fan.

Thank you! I actually thought about which way to put them. If they are completely on the shoulder, I thought it would look better to have them pointing outside, rather than towards the head. If they "hang down" onto the sleeves, though, it's right that I should probably flip them around, or they will be upside down.

Just added one more concept in the OP. The color scheme makes too much sense and looks too good to abandon in, in my opinion.

The new logo may look too much like soccer? But there've been a few teams trying those round logos, so I thought I might as well do it too. Minnesota and Columbus come to mind.

I actually really like all of the designs. The recent update with the circle logo is excellent in my opinion. I also really liked the one that was the city flag look. The colors and striping of the home jersey are relatively Buffalo-esque, but their old colors weren't exactly overly original themselves. Half the league is Red, Blue, and White. Unless you go with some insane color combination you're going to look like some other team in some way.

The light blue one didn't do it for me, but that's personal taste.
