Oh come on now. Barkov wouldn't be centering a C-team.

Yep. I'd say that this Finlands B+ team.

Anyway gotta watchout for Ehlers.
That boy got some wheels and very good wrister. Allways dangerous with the puck.

There's no such thing as a "B+ team". This team includes some players from what would be the "A team" and some who would be lucky to crack the "C team". You never see an actual A team as someone is always injured and you never see an actual B team either. These are such silly terms to use.

Finland had a B team in Torino 2006.

I'm a bit nervous. If Finland lose this one, then you can't watch tv,internet, facebook, newspaper or what ever in atleast 2 months.! I can already see those articles! :help:

But I'll say 4-1 Finland!

I think of all teams, getting eliminated by Denmark would generate the lowest possible levels of ********.

Edit: "angriness".

In the Canada game my prediction was (luckily) totally off, so I'll try again:

-Denmark's 1st line scores the first goal during the 1st period
-Finland dominates but Dahm stands on his head
-Finally Laine will save us and score the equalizer, after which the da(h)m breaks and Finland will win

The last part might take a while, I wouldn't be that surprised if this went to OT. It will be a close game (at least the score).

Were we to lose this I would be seriously pissed, but at the same time happy for Denmark though. Would give their hockey a major boost.

Here comes the worst part: I won't be able to watch 2nd period since I have a class to teach. I think I'll leave my laptop open on the table and keep an eye on the live score.

Yeah, pretty much actually - Slovenia would come close but that would maybe be bit too embarrassing, Latvia would be quite good too!

100% agreed. Finnish media would focus on giving kudos to Denmark rather than spewing **** on our own team (or *****in' about the refs). Finns love underdogs, we've been in that role many times - although I don't think we qualify as one anymore, at least not after this year.

Just make up some story about how it is educational to watch hockey, for study purposes only of course.

Finland, A-team? B-team? C... no you are all wrong, this is the TNT-team, number 29 will make goal cages burn!

My high school history teacher brought a TV into the class one time when there was a early game and just said "this is the makings of history". :D

In 2011 the same guy said "if we win gold (on Sunday), it's understandable if you won't make it to school the next day. I probably won't". And he didn't

More on topic: I've been worried about Denmark since the 2010 loss. Especially Ehlers is going to be dangerous.

I think the game is hard to predict, but I also think one of two likely outcomes will be 1. A close game where Dahm plays lights out and Finland wins by two or three goals scored in third period or 2. Finland scores quickly and cruise it home. Obviously I hope for scenario three, but I dont know how likely it is. As long as our boys give it 110% I'll be satisfied no matter what the outcome will be. Please avoid stupid penalties and be effective when the opportunity arrise.

Here is to a good and fair game. Do not bring the sisu with you Finland. ;-)

I have hard time figuring out how Denmark could score more than 1 goal against us. My prediction is that Finland dominates the whole game and the question marks are on table only in the first period before Finland cracks first one. 4-0 for Finland. This IMO is the most likely scenario.

If Denmark can keep out of the penalty box they have a shot. If they take penalties and allow Laine to go on PP, Dahm can't spell any Danish word out of his mouth when the puck already is in the back of the net. :yo:

I don't wanna be arrogant or anything, but Finns should take this without big problems. I think the game is gonna be tight at the beginning and Denmark may score 1-2 goals. Then Finns must have that killer instinct and find the way to outscore them.

Prediction: 6-2 Fin

Denmark can definitely give us hard time and I for one am a bit afraid of this game. Always difficult to go as a overwhelming favorite.

Here's for a good and hard game. I hope both teams stay out of the box as much as possible.

Take a couple of penalties and you will figure it out pretty easily.

you finns are way to generous in your predictions, or is it just one big collective anti jinx youve got going?

For me 6-1 Fin. +50 sog and less than 20 for dk

Nonsense. We would laugh it off and be a part of a beautiful hockey story emerging. And obviously be cheering for the Danes in the semis and beyond because of the job well done. (unless they kneed Laine in the process then obviously not.)

What a story that would be. But I will definitely also be rooting for Finland in the semis, even if you beat us. I just hope we can avoid a complete blowout like our Russia game. That would be painful.

Denmark rarely play dirty (unlike Perry), so let's hope we avoid any injuries on either team.

Alright, now's your time to shine!

It's going to be a tough challenge to make spectral optics out of hockey. "Patrik Laine's shot is a laser beam" will not be enough, I think?

On the other hand, we could watch the game and analyze the RGB gamut of the video projector... :naughty:

Like someone said earlier, we're cautious because we are the overwhelming favorites; that's something we're not used to. The fans know and hopefully the players know that the game shouldn't be seen as another piece of cake, or else there could be a disaster. At least in the past Finns often tended to play up or down to their opponent's level; games against weaker teams are tight, games against the top countries are tight. It seems the new generation has learned away from this habit, which is awesome :)
