Asking Kinkaid to make a save on a penalty shot is too much. He's not the type of goalie who can bail out his teammates for mistakes

Penalty shot aside, this game has been incredibly boring. Painfully uninteresting hockey

Any reason why the US seems to have trouble to get players to come to this tournament? They have a lot of talent that never seem to wanna play in these... too bad.

It's weird actually. This team isn't worse, than last year's team by names, but way worse by play.

The names are definitely worse. Torey Krug, Seth Jones and Justin Faulk were awesome on the blue line last year. Don't have the same type of defensemen this year in top pairings. Last year they had more actual goal scorers and superior center depth in top 3 lines, so they could spread them out and balance the lines instead of having to put their best centers all on one line like they have to now. This year they've scratched and clawed to find just enough offense

It's not a tournament that matters to most American hockey players so there's tons of declined invites. There were also a decent amount of injured players and free agents this year that would have possibly considered an invite otherwise.

On D there were names like Faulk, Krug, Jones, Gardiner and Murphy. Goaltending had Hellebuyck. The forwards were weak but IMO still better than this year.

The average age of this year's team is 23. There are some good players but they are outmatched and are in over their head.

Nah last year's team had more bluechip talent...guys like Eichel, Vesey, S. Jones, Helle***** sp??? in goal, plus they also had Matthews and Larkin, did they not?

Vatrano has been very good all tournament and set that up nicely for Matthews and Auston took care of the rest
