It doesn't, but thanks

I am not making any excuses. We deserved to lose this game due to manner in which we approached this game.
Sure, there is a big difference in skating, skills, creativity... between their young players from universities/AHL and some of our europeans. They are basically complete players at the age of ~20 and they were developed in one of the best junior system. Players like Larkin, Matthews will make you look dumb sometimes, no wonder. But it is what it is for quite some time now, Canada, USA, Sweden, Russia and now even Finland are on different level in juniors compared to us. I don't think that it will change somehow soon but hopefully I am wrong.
I am talking about the success on senior level and quite frankly, if we advance to semifinal, then we have to consider as success no matter what happens after. Let's be realistic. Especially with teams like this. Sure, the way we produce young players is related to WHC and all other senior tournaments but it is on entirely different discussion.
Then I am afraid we end up like Slovakia soon. I dont have a problem with Larkin, Matthews, I have a problem with quality of our shots, of how we skate, how we make the traffic and how we are able to keep a pace of the game. We are already working with guys from that weak juniors programs so we obviously bring them up later, like Jerabek who is in age when Slegr was already regular national player. Still I would suppose that we can somehow adjust to US or Canadian play, especially when they bring "B" goalies. And thats obviously an issue. And if we are not able to do that, then why we should belong to top nations?
I still thought we should have high goals and targets. IIHF websites talk about czechs having several straight years without any medal. And we celebrating our 4th places.....?Thats a difference in attitude. Then we obviously do the same like slovaks who were like " common guys, silver is miracle, realistically we should fight for QF". Except slovaks are more and more in deep "****" (sorry guys) and they are realistically talking about avoiding relegations now.....
No, I am not celebrating 4th places, I am just saying that it is success these days, well it sucks that we lost 2 bronze medal games, yeah, that's bad, especially last year. But at least we were able to go through QF game, there were times (multiple years) we couldn't even win QF, it is not that long ago.
We are still top hockey nation, just not on the level of Canada, Russia, Sweden, USA and now also not on Finland. Behind them, there we are, 6th. Although, best-on-best, we are still up there with Finland, imo, at least until Laine, Puljujarvi, Rantanen, Aho, Lindell, Pokka and co. really take over Finlands senior team.
I want to be in better position, too, but right now we are far away from the better than 6th place. I don't think that we'll end up like Slovakia, don't think that it is a possibility. We still should continue to be better than that, easily.
This USA team is awful. Defense getting hemmed in the defensive end, poor breakout and no secondary scoring outside of Larkin and Matthews. They're going to get destroyed by Canada.
Personally, I'm fine with all of that. Playing for a medal with this squad is a great sgn for USA hockey.

It wasnt me but yes, I still believe losing on purpose is absolute horse crap, if thats what you are asking.
wat? usa is not kind of team to be afraid of, they lost to germany for christ's sake
....and yet here we are! Playing for a medal!
Again 2 years running...although I liked last year's Team USA roster better...
This was my first game I caught all tournament so I'm way behind but wow did the U.S. team look out of sync. What is up with the roster by the way? They sent no one of note outside of Matthews and Larkin. Kinkaid looked great but I don't expect him to continue on that level, I hope I'm wrong but they are going to get smashed vs Canada.
Only in the semis because they Czechs decided to take the game off.
I've never felt so mehhh after seeing a team I'm rooting for win.
Kinkaid gets hot and cold. If he is on a hot streak though watch out. He looks like he's getting better as he adjusts to the bigger ice. There is a reason Hines picked him.
