GDT: Quarterfinal - May 23 - Canada vs Switzerland

Of course these games matter to the players that gave up part of their summer to travel to Slovakia for the IIHF Championships. When Canadians downplay the importance of the tournament, it's because we also realize that Canada does not marshal their significant hockey resources to send the best possible team. Why? Because this tournament remains a Euro-focused event held on a Euro-focused schedule for the benefit of primarily European hockey fans, and that's OK.

Sure or you can look at it from other prospective... Russia can beat canada and also is good at it.

That would be sweet. Last year must have been a bit tough for them too (losing the final in the shootout.. I remember Fiala missing an empty net in the OT) a now this. Well, but some say you have to suffer first to truly enjoy..

Everyones quick to dump on us if we lose though, it's all glee, you for sure hear about that when it happens.

I would have tipped my hat and was about to until the miracle happened, I am sure plenty of other Canadian fans would have done it to.

Just saying, it's a little dissapointing.

I think the point is that what was brought up by that fan had no business being in this thread to begin with, it isn't the place to discuss that whether it is just one poster or 100.

Just discuss the game, it's a game thread not anything else.

Sure, but keep that focus then and don't blow it out of proportion like it's some horde of posters, when it's just one grumpy guy.
