Obviously the Swiss team is upset, having lost a locked game in the last second. But you've got to give Canada credit for their effort in the last minutes of the game. They battled until the last second of the game and it's not like the goal came out of the blue.
In any case: Swiss team can be proud of its fruitful hockey development. They should now know for sure that they can beat any of the top 6 countries on a very good day. They have been and will be a force to be reckoned with in future WC's.

The attendance in Québec City in 2008 was consistently higher than in Halifax, despite the fact that Team Canada played almost all its games in Halifax

I don't understand why do you need to try to find something in everything to be offended by. It is unlucky in the sense that had the puck been shot any later than that, Switzerland would have won. Sure, the game was in Switzerland's end for most of the third period and especially the last few minutes and no one is saying that the goal wouldn't have been "deserved" or something equally outlandish.

Swiss is playing there chance to win a game against Canada by play strong defense , i love that Canada got that goal , they are way better team even with 70 declines

Don't demand anything, it would just be nice to see some respect and being classy in defeat, but i have learned here that is too much to expect from most of you guys over there. You win you gloat, we win..........you take digs at. You lose.....................you go away or make excuses. And even when your team isn't playing Canada some of you( lot of you in fact) just always jump in to have a go at us.

Okay, so help me out here: since I am apparently supposed to congratulate Canada for beating Switzerland, am I also supposed to congratulate the Blues for eliminating the Sharks? What about congratulating whoever wins the NBA this season as well? Literally all I have said is that this was an unlucky defeat for Switzerland, I have not commented on the Canadian performance (in any game of the tournament as a matter of fact) and somehow you have managed to victimize yourself and your entire country and accuse me of not being classy.
Not really sure what you're looking for here. Really expecting opposing team fans to be coming here to shower their opponent with praise after elimination? Come on.
Plus, you know as well as I do that if Canada had lost, half the posts here would be "Congrats for beating Canada's D-team lolz"

I'm Canadian. And I'm not sure what standards you're talking about. We're not held to any standard, which is a good thing, because we have a lot of obnoxious fans (not you) that pop in just say how much they don't care about the tournament and that Canada would beat everyone if we only had our best players, which is understandably annoying for other fans.
If this was in real life, I would agree with you. But this is a message board, which is mostly for venting and occasionally for hockey discussion, and this is probably not a good place to look to for sportsmanship, especially since the 6 Swiss fans on these boards probably would prefer to do something other than talking about hockey right now.
The Swiss has never been a pushover against Canada in recent years. I laughed when i heard some people say that Canada would

I don't think you're wrong that there's been some anti Canada, anti NHL, sentiment around here this week. It's kinda understandable. They're defensive about the tournament, participation, etc., and some Canadians certainly aren't helping when they need to remind everyone how many players didn't go and how not a big deal it is here.
But taking the bait isn't a good look either. When a country has been as dominant in a sport as Canada has been best on best you're gonna get haters. He's hating. Smirk and let it go.

Why single Canada out, the Finns have been telling anyone who will listen that they have only 2 nhl'ers on the team since before this tournament started.
