Canada deserved to be in lead after 1st.

Finland deserves to be in lead now.

Going to be an interesting 3rd period!

Too many goals from defensive mistakes and bad goaltending in both ends of the ice for my taste. I'd love to see more goals from good offensive plays.

Marner is actually not even close to ready for this level. Hes swimming all over the ice and cant do anything on the PP which is suppose to be his bread and butter.

Play Sanheim or Dermott in his place, why does he get full 2 min power plays?? Makes no sense.

Why would they put a defence man in there?

Dermott is already playing on the PP.

Virtanen has had by far his best game before the stupid penalty. Not sure why he didn't play that way before today. Oh well. He'll see a lot of ice in the third and needs to be careful.

The entire Point line has been brutal and Perlini needs to sit his ass on the bench from here on out.

Stephens and Konecny have been really good, as usual, and Quenneville has had a really good game.

Barzal line has been invisible, though Gauthier has had a few noticeable shifts.

Sanheim is trying to do too much out there. Best game by McKeown.

Blackwood is terrible and should have been pulled.

It was clear McDonald was the better goalie going into this game but the OHL bias is real, GG Canada see you next year

McDonald shouldn't even be on the team and I think that is the real problem. When your #1 falters in a short tourney you are screwed if your backup sucks and you are reluctant to go to him.

Man people lose their ****ing mind in these threads lol.

You have no idea, watching Canada always dominate WJCs through a decades. Finally we are competitive against you when it matters. Honestly I'm afraid Finns D will stumble this again at the end, but I'm losing my mind such a joy watching this game

Saarela has been good for Finland, and I think Raantanen has picked it up. But Kapanen needs to show so much more.

This game can go either way, cant remember when i saw so many D errors in a game, perhaps some oiler games the last 10 years.

Its only 1 game but cant see any of these teams have a chance against Sweden in the semifinal!

For those who can watch the game who are in your opinion the best players for Finland and Canada so far?

Tough to say for Canada. Strome has been fairly noticeable this game.

For Finland, Puljujarvi has been good obviously but Juolevi probably gets the nod. Very good this game.

Underrated player of the game? Roope Hintz. Kid looks like a combination of Jagr and Jesus. He's gotten even better since my scouting report last year

Really a complete player. Great shine and body with strong potential. This is a kid who could have great hair for the rest of his life. I've heard he employs the spray bottle which is an underutilized technique, nice to see him keep that alive. As far as his future goes I see him being a top 10 guy league wide for years to come. You just can't compete with lettuce that crisp. The game needs players like Roope and by proxy, Roope's salad. I've heard he's currently negotiating with both Pantene and Head And Shoulders, should be quite the battle.

I thought Canada's roster was underwhelming coming into the tournament -- lacking something previous Canadian teams had. I don't know what it is, but looking at the roster, it was the way I felt instantly.

The biggest problem is coaching, though. Holy crap, it's bad. Lowry has no control it seems and doesn't look like he has a clue what he's doing.

Well for the final 20 minutes I'll still be repping my team Canada jersey. Win or lose, I'll still wear it with pride.

He has done nothing either way. The only time he gets praise in on the PP. Absolutely worthless 5 on 5 and constantly turns the puck over.

to be quite honest Virtanen doesn't deserve to play a lot going forward. The guy has been an ass clown all tournament.

:shakehead

Marner was terrific on the PP.
