You need to couple it with a good rocket shot from the blue line. Russia doesn't have this kind of shooters in this roster.

it makes it even more important to screen goalie when your shooters are not so hot.
I also not impressed with Askarov.

Russia is in TROUBLE

They are flipping the puck into the air way too much as nobody wants the puck. They dont want the responsibility. So just sky high the puck.

They just don't have top end talent. A top finisher.
It doesn't help when you have the entire team all "left handed" ........One right handed player

It makes a huge difference when you are getting pucks out and creating off side scoring chances

MAF had some atrocious playoff runs but overall he's been a goalie well above average level. I don't see Askarov having a career of that caliber. One of the factors for that is a right catching glove too. The track record of those goalies having a success in the NHL the last couple of decades is awful.
