Surprised it only ended 2-1, but score doesn't mean anything. I will never count russia out, they look like a team that finds a way to win no matter what. Going to be very interesting for sure.
It goes in waves for sure... that was a great grouping and the team that beat Canada the only time in history also had a good grouping (Pastrnak, Vrana, Zacha, O Kase, Kampf). The Swiss have also had some really good cohorts and currently don't have a drafted player.I'm talking about just the juniors.
For me, it's Germany had a great tournament but still didn't make it past the quarters. The Czech's have a weaker team and still made it to the quarters. When Germany has a weak team they get relegated. When is the last time Czech was relegated?
Also, how long ago was it when Czech had Kaut, Necas, Chytil, Hajek and Zadina?
What game were you watching? I thought he played a solid team game and very solid defensively. Germans played very good D and space and time were limited. Podz was very unselfish and took no extra long shifts or made any risky plays. Setup a couple of high danger chances as posted in this tread.Podz with a terrible game
The man crush was invisible today. You love to see it.

Again, just an exhibition game.

Lol, look at those images above. Russia barely bothered to consider the German goalscorer and were focused INTENSELY on Stutzle. So much so that it resulted into Elias literally all alone with goalie.
Russia did a brilliant job on Stutzle, even at the cost of generating offense themselves. They threw everything at him. Stutzle himself still had brilliant rushes most of which were stymied or his own team couldnt keep up.
But ya "invisible" lol
I agree with most of what you say other then I will say most of the Canadian players had not played a real game that meant anything for many months. So maybe some rust. Not sure if that is the same with the Russian players but I digress. Monday’s game should be a good one and honestly it could go either way. I love watching Canada Russia hockey because it’s always intense. May the best team win. Cheers.Agreed, but it was the same guys who will likely play each other on Monday, only 12 days later (Canada had Dach for most of the game). No one has gotten better or worse over the course of 12 days. Its rare when Canada blows Russia out in head-to-head matchups, in fact, I think Russia has more wins than losses against Canada over the last 10 years. This isn't a history lesson though, the focus will be on Monday, since Finland beat Sweden, and it looks like Canada-Russia on Jan. 4. Canada will no doubt be heavily favored, but they are going to have to win it on the ice. It may be unlikely, but a Russian upset is well within the realm of possibility.
